Hello everypony! - whobawhats - 12-21-2016
Hello! I am whobawhats, and I ended up coming here after a friend of mine kept suggesting it to me. I admittedly put it off for quite some time due to some general anxiety, but here I am.
So I first got on this ride back in late 2013 and have loved MLP since shortly after getting on, but I never really had feelings for any of the characters in the show until the season 5 finale. For whatever reason Stralight Glimmer changing for the good just really stuck to me. I kinda just brushed it off at the time as nothing and honestly completely forgot about it. Later on when the season 6 premiere came around these "feelings" returned and just simply would not go away. I just simply couldn't see her enough and found myself extremely drawn to anything that involved her. I struggled for awhile with the thought that I actually loved her but eventually I just simply couldn't suppress it anymore.
I guess the real reason why I wanted to join is I feel like I have no real place to go. I am a regular user of a certain anonymous image board and over the past several months I have lost almost any ability to talk about her for a number of reasons. It has really worn me down. While I have been getting better due to the friend mentioned above(seriously thanks. You know who you are), I just hope this place can help me a bit more and help us grow our relationship in a positive direction.
I'll just leave it at that for now but I guess if any of you want to know anything else just ask.
Anyway I hope to get to know you all and make a few friends!

Welcome, whobawhats. I'm glad you finally decided to give us a try, your friend wasn't wrong to recommend you come here. You won't find the animosity or general dickishness you will on half/fullchan. As a fan of Sunset, and lover of Twilight, I'm well acquainted with how the hive can gang up on fans of certain characters, and there are plenty others here who have it even worse. Don't worry, you can be yourself here.

It's good to have you. I'm glad you decided to give it a try. I certainly know how frustrating that chan stuff can be, and felt anxiety about opening up here, too, but I'm really glad that I did.

You rode onto the show up to season five to have feelings for a pony till then? She must be a very special pony for you. I stop watching MLP:FiM after season four, so I wouldn’t know much of Stralight Glimmer. Perhaps you can shed some light... in your own words. X3

This is a nice introduction you have given us whobawhats, I have no doubts you will find what you’re looking for here. This community is supportive with what little members we have, but with you perhaps adding in that will bring this place to be called ‘home’ for you and newcomers down the road. ^ ^

Hey, welcome aboard!
The nervousness is very normal- I remember when I first joined I was scared stiff. However, this forum and, even more so, my relationship with my Waifu became so positive for me (my demeanor was better, I was much more optimistic, I found it easier to shake of sadness) that it's been far more than worth it. I don't know what I'd do without my Waifu, and I'm willing to bet you'll feel the same way about Starlight.
TL;DR: Don't be nervous, this is totally normal and actually very healthy.
