It could be, Kaltes-Herzeleid. Depression affects a lot of people. It might be useful to read up on it a little; like you said when you were able to identify your symptoms as intrusive thoughts when you were reading up on OCD, it's a powerful feeling to be able to put a name to something you experience. And if it seems like you may be experiencing Depression, that knowledge can be used to formulate a plan for moving forward and working against it.

Do you know that moment when things are going bad, but then you make a decision and things start getting better, but then that decision comes walking back in all, "Hey, fuckface!" and things spiral out of control twice as hard?

In terms of life things are fine, in terms of my mares things are going side ways on a pogo stick with moon physics.
