S6E6 No Second Prances

Overall, I thought this was a good episode, and definitely a better return for Trixie than Magic Duel. I thought the episode was very good to Starlight too, with the only problem being the unfortunate case of Twilight, it seems that she's stuck in some limbo space with writers not knowing quite what to do with her. It's unfortunate, and I really want to see her in a better situation too. But all in all definitely a good episode for Starlight and Trixie at the very least.

S6E7 Newbie Dash

I didn't see this one until now. Honestly, I thought it really felt a bit mean to Dash, and I didn't like it that much. Like I think I get what they were going for, I just feel like it fell flat and came off more hurtful, especially because of the connection made to the bullies when Rainbow Dash was a filly. And you could really feel how hurt Dash was over this. It just wasn't wasn't pleasant to watch for me. And the way it ended, it just didn't really feel justified to me. Again, especially since this pony is known to have saved the world, and their lives, hazing her seems, I don't know, silly. I know I would have a hard time hazing someone if they did that. All in all, probably not the worst one I've seen, but I don't think I'll happily return to it anytime soon.

S6E8 A Hearth's Warming Tail

So I feel like Christmas Carol's are, without a doubt, overdone. Absolutely. However, I feel like what makes this episode different from all those others, were the songs. All the songs in this episode were great, and I felt like as a musical it held everything together more and made it a lot more fun. In fact, with what I've heard of S6 already, I think all the songs here are the best for the season.

S6E9 Saddle Row Review

I thought this one was good, for a Mane 6 episode. It definitely had some cute moments, and the angel and devil Rarity is totally how I view the world by the way. All in all, more Mane 6 episodes like this should definitely be put out more.

S6E10 Applejack's Day Off

Wow. This one was just... does anyone involved watch the show? Like I guess it wasn't offensively bad, but wow I question if they even know anything about the show. Applejack frequenting spa days with Rarity? Needing a steam? The behavior in this one was completely off just to force a narrative that they wanted to deliver for no real good reason. The episode didn't even connect well. Honestly this would have been much better off if it was what I was initially expecting in the first place. A Twilight episode based around her not being able to do Applejack's chores. Honestly that would have been much better than what was presented.

S6E11 Flutter Brutter

Geez, Zephyr Breeze is probably on the list of characters I want to punch in the face. What an asshole. Also, I have to say I am still really disappointed that he is not voiced by Charlie Day like initially rumored. Seriously, talk about wasted opportunity. Now that would have made it much more entertaining. I guess the song was a decent part of the episode, but I felt like I just spent so much of it absolutely fed up with Breeze's horrible behavior, it really wasn't excusable. But I guess I didn't care for it too much.

S6E12 Spice Up Your Life

I don't quite like this one. Not that it was horrible, or offensively bad or anything, I just feel this is a prime example of what the map episodes just don't work, and the problem with them. They force a narrative way too hard. Rather than make it a Rarity and Pinkie episode, it comes off more as "The map tells Rarity and Pinkie to go to Canterlot and they go their separate way to solve a problem and then swap." It doesn't do a great job solving the friendship issue, and it's very lacking in showing anything between Rarity and Pinkie. The song in particular was really disappointing, as it shouldn't have been that bad for the best singing VA, and on other really fantastic one. The problem with the song was it was just too repetitive, it should not have 3 uses of the chorus like that in a short timeframe. Another problem I had was how Rarity acted. While I wasn't necessarily bothered by how she acted compared to, say, Carts (oh hey that's coming up soon...), I think her behavior of "the best thing to do is copy what others have done" that's really completely unlike her. Her advise would be more about bringing what others find appealing into the uniqueness that someone already has, not just mimic others. So that wasn't fantastic. The ending was nice though, but all in all, this felt like a very forced episode, just to bring back the map in particular, when instead a little rework could have gone a long way.

S6E13 Stranger Than Fanfiction

I thought this one was alright. Of the gripes I had, I still don't fully like the whole "Daring Do is real" bit, of course carried over from Daring Don't, I thought Quibble got a bit annoying at times, and I don't think a convention felt very fitting in Equestria, however I give that a pass since I felt like it at least captured what a convention is well. So it was entertaining at least. I thought the lesson of the episode was very strong, especially since it didn't seem to lean in favor of any side of things, and basically seemed to say "Enjoy what you want". So I thought that made the episode strong for me. All in all, I think I enjoyed it, probably one of the better ones of this season.

S6E14 The Cart Before the Ponies

If I had to sum up my feelings in a single reaction.

It's like whoever wrote this had no regard for anyone, and just want to do whatever they felt like, hurting everyone in the process. Just everything is so irritating, like who the hell designed that stupid race track? The song was wasted, and after all that they don't even bother to show who won the race? I really hate this episode, and I don't say that about many despite my dislike for quite a few. This episode could have been much better if it was organized slightly different. Make the CMC want to "swap" sisters to make them get the cart they want, and then have them realize the point of it was to spend time with family, not win the race. Seriously don't fuck over the Mane 6 for a dumb lesson like that. And this episode just really gets under my skin. It also is so wrong with how it treats Rarity. Not only would she never hold a grudge like that, but she would never make her goal solely pleasing the audience, it's always the customer who means more to her, even if she fuses it with elements of her own vision, that's never dominant. So of course that would extend to Sweetie Belle. And then making the 3 Mane 6 ponies take all the blame

Seriously just fuck this episode and whoever wrote it.
