RE: Rocky Road - Pacifist - 05-23-2016

<<Hard Day's Night>>

I lazily sauntered into the house and closed the door with a bit more force than necessary. I had just worked a full shift. Due to a coworker's car problems, I couldn't take my break; I barely had enough time to eat dinner.

As such, I was more than exhausted, and I knew I had to go back in tomorrow.

The living room television was on, something about the Alps. There was my dear Maud, resting on the couch.

I unceremoniously flopped onto said couch, and put my arms around her.

"Hard day." I said. "No talkie. Snuggie."

She looked at me, then gave me a nuzzle.

"Couldn't have said it better myself." I said before giving her a quick kiss.

The documentary was rather meh, but the company was great.
Nice of her to carry me to bed when I fell asleep.
I'm sure the drool in her mane washed out easily.

Moral of the story: Horseypones make the best pillows.

This is true, chest floof is also the best to lay your head on, much research has been done on this.

I was feeling really tired and a little sick at work, so I wrote a poem.

Maud, you are my darling Rock Horse.
You are sturdy and dependable.
When I am too tired to stand on my own, you will be there to hold me up.
When I need comfort, you will find your way to my arms every time.
When I go to sleep, you will be there to snuggle.
When I wake the next day, you will be beside me on my pillow.
When I lose everything, you will remain.
You are tougher than diamond.
You last longer than any mountain.
You are my darling Rock Horse.
I will never let you go.

That's a great poem pacifist!

I'm sure maud enjoyed hearing it from you!

Rain is wet.

I know it's obvious. It's also unpleasant when you aren't fully ready. I have a jacket and a hat, but the current downpour is just insane. I put my glasses away a while ago, rendered useless from how covered in water they were. Here I was, shakily walking down the driveway after a hard day of work, the light over the garage guiding me. Reach into my jacket, press a button, the garage door opens. I walk past the car. I press the button on the wall, the garage door closes as another door opens.

Behind the door was a gray beauty. I manage a smile at the pretty pony as I follow her for a few steps before detouring to rid myself of my jacket on my dining room chair, my hat on the table, and sat down on an old spinny chair to put my shoes down in front of a wood furnace that we never use. I take a moment to catch my breath. Hoofsteps let me know that Maud was near.

No words were necessary. She stood next to me. I got up and carefully lied my chest down upon her back, nuzzling my face into her mane and wrapping my arms around her chest. With each step I could feel her quiet strength. She carried my weight with ease as she brought me upstairs to our bedroom.
I carefully lifted myself over to the bed. I took a moment to take off my belt and socks, and Maud put away her frock. The creak of springs and the shift of weight let me know my beloved was next to me. My eyes looked into her as we drew near. One light kiss, and we held each other close.

No blankets were necessary. Our love burned bright enough to keep us warm.

Bad day? Until this happened, of course.

Nice imagery in this post. Nice feelings, too. I hope you're feeling warm and snug with her now.

I didn't see this coming, to be honest. At least, not before I met her.

I had talked to Maud a while ago about the possibility of another woman, that I barely knew how my own romantic feelings for her worked and there was a potential for another to be brought into my heart. She was hard to read about the subject, of course. I had the feeling that she might not like it. Made sense, she had a fairly traditional upbringing, that she was with anyone at all that wasn't a pony is a miracle for me.

But after meeting that mare in the town center, getting to know her, becoming friends, and starting to feel something more...
If I wanted this to work, I had to make sure all parties were compliant. I hoped everything would work out, I loved Maud very dearly. Even if it didn't, I would still have her.

The doorbell rang. I stroked Maud's mane. "I think that's her."

Maud replied by sipping her cocoa.

Welp, can't put this off. I have a pony waiting for me. So, I went to the front door and opened it.
On the other side was a new flame. She was a bit taller than Maud, a dark purple color with a lighter, sort of berry-purple mane that was done like a mohawk. She wore a black one-piece, likely similar to what she would wear under her armor. Over one of her sea-green eyes was a scar, and on her forehead a broken horn.

"Tempest, come on in." I said. After closing the door after her, I gave her a quick hug.
"Let's get this over with." She said quietly. Seems she wasn't looking forward to this either.
"I'm sure she'll like you. I told her a bit about you already." I said. She gave me a worried glance. "Nothing about your... Past. Just what you're like now." I whispered. She looked relieved. I could understand that, I imagine that could wait until she and Maud got along a little better.
Speaking of which, we finally entered the living room. We sat on the couch, myself sitting between Maud and Tempest.

"Maud, this is Tempest Shadow. Tempest, Maud Pie."
"Hi." Maud said.
"H-hi." Tempest said.
An awkward silence followed. "So, Maud, did you know Tempest works for the Equestrian Military?"
"What do you do?" Maud asked.
"For now, I work as a bodyguard whenever one of their Princesses visits this world." Tempest explained. "What about you?"
"I study rocks." Maud said.
More silence. It would seem that the ice was simply too thick to properly break.

To hell with it. I reached around and began stroking both of their manes. I felt both of them get tense for a moment, then relax. Of course I threw in a few ear scratches as well. Maud began to rest against my side while Tempest leaned her head down on my lap, her ears flicking. A low moan let me know she was enjoying this.
I smiled, put my right arm around Maud, then brought her in for a kiss. I could smell her earthy tones as I continued to gently stroke her mane.
The kiss did not last long, as I suspected that it might feel awkward for the other pony in the room. One look at Tempest's face told me I was right.
"Don't worry, Fizzyfizz, I won't leave you out."
The mentioning of my nickname for her made her blush a bright crimson, but nevertheless she brought her head up so I could bring her in for a kiss as well. She was a bit more of an active kisser than Maud, that much was clear.
Tastes like electric berry. Her horn was probably sparking a little.
Parting the kiss, I looked into her eyes and gave her a nuzzle. I put an arm around her as well, and brought them both in for a hug. They felt a lot less tense than before, and both put their hooves around me.

Perhaps this could work out after all.
