My mother is well aware that I love Rainbow - that she is in my life. She recognizes the positive impact that Babe has had on me; the healing and happiness that came with her. My mother supports our relationship. I couldn't imagine her doing anything else.

I don't necessarily hide my relationship from anyone, but I don't openly discuss it with everyone, either. It's our relationship; it exists whether one person or a hundred people know of it. My mother - and my close friends - know that I am sincere. That Babe is important and irreplaceable.

In my experience, a mother's love is unconditional. She will find reasons to be proud of you, and she will not condemn you for being yourself. The kind of love we have with our respective partners? It isn't shameful; nor is it any less worthwhile or genuine than any other. Though it might be precisely the sort of love we need, it is not particularly different from love in general.

So, should your mother discover your relationship, give her another reason to be proud. Show her that you have regard for your partner. That your partner matters to you. Surely the mother who loves you could appreciate that.

From what you said I think she would be completely fine with it. I wont tell her, but I wont be as anxious of her finding out.
