I remain convinced that this film will be remembered as one of the most important works of cinema of the 2000s. Not one of the greatest...but one of the most important.
I haven't seen a movie in quite a while. I honestly can't remember what the last one I watched was...

In the past I would've disagreed...since most fail to realize there's more to Godzilla than fights, but yeah I'm inclined to think the new movie doesn't leave as much of an impact as I once thought.

Andy Warhol's Vinyl. It seems I always turn to Warhol when I wonder how the practices of the cinematic grindhouse can provide lessons for the stage. Maybe it's because Warhol's camera work is so static that it seems more related to the spatial framing of the stage than the temporal practice of "cutting" in movies.
