S1E15: Feeling Pinkie Keen

I'm not sure what to make of this episode. I'd say it's okay, but I don't know what to think of the lesson that was learned. Is it a good idea to tell children to just believe in things without questioning them? I feel like it isn't. But I guess things are different in Ponyland since you have magic and all sorts of things?
Also I think they overdid it with the cartoony clichés in this one. Those things that happened to Twilight began harmless, like falling down a small pit or a frog falling on her face, but it ends up with a fucking anvil and the classic piano landing directly on her head, which is kind of a overkill imo. Also Twilight getting hit by an opening door, and not only once, meh.
The climax is getting resolved with her bouncing off a bubble like that, which seems a bit lazy to me.
But maybe I'm just too critical, since it's a cartoon, it's a Pinkie episode, and they have magic, so "stupid" things are bound to happen?
The pacing seemed a bit off, a few scenes just seemed unnecessary.

Either way, the good stuff for me was of course Pinks, lotsa cute moments, I generally like the Pinkie sense per sé, but I feel like they didn't really use it much afterwards, which is a shame. I can remember 2 short instances, but maybe I'm missing something.

So, I don't know how to rate this to be honest, Pinks is absolutely cute³ in this one, but the episode itself is not exactly that good in my book.

I'll actually go with 7/15 honks here

I think the moral of it was not about blindly followimg anything, I think it was intended to just be about having a little faith in your friends.

Yes, that's most probably it

S1E16: Sonic Rainboom

This ep has fanstastic pacing in my book, every scene serves a purpose, everything slowly builds up to the grand finale, which is very cool.
I love Fluttershy here, her enthusiastic screaming at the end never fails to put a smile on my face, and of course it's also really great on RD, showing how her nerves got the best of her, but how she's able to pull through when she needs to.
Pinkie had a nice scene too, in the library.

Now on Rarity, I honestly remembered the episode as being much worse on her than how I was seeing it right now, in terms of her stealing the spotlight and being "rude".
But I have to say, it's really not that bad. Certainly nothing more than her getting carried away and making a hasty decisions that lead to RD needing to pull of the Rainboom. And as Rares put it, everybody has flaws and makes bad decisions, so I'd say it's also very good on her.

another 14/15 in my book, Sonic Rainbooms this time of course

S1E17: Stare Master

This is really good on Fluttershy, kind of similar to RD in Sonic Rainboom on how she's conquering her fears when it counts. The stare itself is alright I guess, similar to how Pinkie has her sense I suppose.
Twilight's present feels a bit forced, of course she needs to write the letter and stuff, but it's not that bad.
The CMC are cute all around, if pretty much only portrayed as your typical annoying children for the majority of the ep.
But the song is nice! Songs are always nice!
Otherwise really nothing much too say there, it's aight.

9/15 Chicken

S1E18: The Show Stoppers

That song is so good. You can hear that it's supposed to be bad, but that doesn't change the fact that it's very catchy and even epic.
I love hearing Sweetie Belle's singing, like when she summed that tune alone in the The scene where they go crusading around the town with a nice tune in the background, that's always very enjoyable to see. Even though it's suspiciously long and messes up the pacing a bit.
Twilight's present is once again not really necessary, but okay since she plays that party the CMC can speak with so we get the idea of their unfitting priorities.
and what the hell is that:

It's still a very cool episode in my book, I'd give it a 10

10/15 dumb fabrics

S7E14: Fame and Misfortune

For the most part, I'd say this one was good. The moral was good that nobody is perfect, and about applying lessons to yourself, not just taking sides. Though, I don't think it's perfect, I have a few issues with it. I do feel like it got a bit preachy at times, with I think maybe one too many direct fandom references, and I think it got maybe too mean at some times. The big problem though is I don't like how there wasn't a resolution to the episode. I felt like, yeah, so okay I guess it's close to the real world, but I don't quite want that. I want to see things get better completely, in a way it felt unfinished. Almost like the song took up too much time and they didn't know how end it. Well tbe song was quite good, and like I said, I like the lesson. It just needed a better wrap up.

S7E15: Triple Threat

I guess I can just call this a Spike episode, like any other. I just can't say I have much care in these, I don't really enjoy his episodes but they don't irritate me. They're just... there. I thought the fact that he caused the map problem was a bit meh. Nothing really else to add. Though maybe the mention of the still evil changelings will play into the finale. And it seems like they want to have Ember be a bit more of a prominent character. Though I must say, why was this episode called Triple Threat? Seems like an unfitting title, there is only 2 causes of a problem. Just a thought.

S7E16: Campfire Tales

I thought this one was alright. Pretty straight forward I suppose, and I guess there's not a lot to say aside from neat to know these stories, and it's so much better to see them here than as opposed to the comics which still seemed out of nowhere. It would have been better to let the show introduce them first. I did really really like Rari's story though, no bias. I found it extremely fitting to be her favorite story, and I really liked the lesson in it. All in all, it was enjoyable I'd say, but I'd say there wouldn't be much else to say about it as I felt it didn't have too much to it aside from being a collection of mini stories, which were pretty straight forward.

I liked how the asian ponies had curved katana-horns.
