Today I saw War for the Planet of the Apes

It was... okay. I wouldn't call it great but it wasn't a poor movie. The best thing it had going for it was the visual aspect, the story for the most part I found to be pretty forgettable despite what it could have been. The music and scenes were very nice though. All in all, I guess it was pleasant to see. But nothing beats the original, I'd rather just go and watch that instead.

Tonight I watched a movie called "Soylent Green". It's a future dystopia movie made in the early 70's.

I have to say I really liked this. Wasn't very big budget looking or anything but was still excellently done. It's a bit dark as can be maybe expected but the mood throughout was very fitting. I definately recommend it.

I don't think I've ever seen a movie that so perfectly illustrates the story of what happens when two completely alien personalities go head to head.

And Vincent is arguable the most intimidating, coldly effective hitman I've ever seen in a movie. If you can, watch it. I highly recommend it.

Have you seen No Country For Old Men?

Which one? I rather enjoyed the first one from the 60s, but after that they got all preachy, and the one where they rose up and overthrew humanity was both abysmal and abysmally stupid.

Yes. Still thought Vincent was scarier, guy felt damn near superhuman.

The Game (1997).

This movie could basically be summarized with: "It's just a prank, bro."

Hot Rod (2007).

This movie is ten years old as of today.

There really has not been a comedy like Hot Rod for me. It's so unashamedly quirky and pure fun from start to finish. It was never destined for mainstream success and to an extent I can see why, some might find the humor overly long in some places or just awkward. But for the people like myself among its cult following, its a comedy goldmine. Even ten years later this movie still gets a laughter out of me. Hell within the first minute of my re-watch I was laughing.

The characters are all great and most importantly, memorable. There really isn't a single major character I don't find unique and funny. Honestly I think this is one of the most quotable movies I've ever seen, I couldn't begin to tell you the number of times I've referenced it in someway.

And in a way, it's rather inspiring. To see Rod Kimble (Andy Samberg) overcome all the obstacles in his way to save his stepfather for the purpose of beating the shit outta him, Rod might not succeed in the conventional way, but he still comes out on top in the end.

I mean how many film protagonists can you think of literally made their antagonist shit himself?

Rod Kimble did.

This wonderful comedy has been apart of my life for ten years now, and I still adore it, even more so than when I was a teenager.

Remember, stay freaking pumped and drink green tea all goddamn day.

Killer's Kiss (1955).

Rather cut and dry film noir and second film directed by the late great Stanley Kubrick. Straightforward, but none the less a well made and very visually good looking movie.
