At the computer I use Sennheiser HMD 280 headset for Skype/podcasting. It's a brand new headset for me. Have it hooked up right now to a Shure X2u (which I normally use with my Shure SM58 mic) because the Focusrite Scarlett 2i2 isn't powerful enough to give me the mic gain I need apparently, though I ordered a TritonAudio FetHead that should ameliorate that. They're closed monitor headphones, which is great since I also do a ton of video editing.

My 7.1 home theater system is composed of:
  • 1x Definitive Technology ProCenter 2000 Compact Center Speaker
  • 2x Sony SS-F6000 Floor-Standing 4-Way Speakers with 6.5" Woofer
  • 4x The Speaker Company NTIC6 6.5" 2-Way In-Ceiling Speaker
  • 1x SVS Model PC12-NSD subwoofer
That's all driven by a Pioneer VSX-1019AH-K 7-Channel A/V Receiver.

Woah speakers, how much you paid for your whole setup? My house has no room for a dedicated speaker room Sad

Well, it's been a while...but I think in all it must've cost close to $1,500 or so. I hired a contractor to install the in-ceiling speakers, they accidentally added one too many holes in my ceiling, but luckily their insurance covered getting that fixed. I think this was like 6-7 years ago now...

I bought the whole thing over the course of a year. Systems like this are perfect for slowly standing up, since all you really need is one speaker and the amp Smile

I hope to eventually build a speaker setup prob over the course of a year, the cost and space required is an issue tho...

I love them, sound quality is pretty good, they're pretty cheap now, they're built well, easy to clean, and VERY comfortable.

I'd highly suggest getting a pair.
Second that, plus if you remove the foam at the back of the earcups, they basically become 598s
