Yeah, that all makes sense. Thank you. It helps, just reading someone else's thoughts on this.

That fandom mindset seems a fitting way to put it, for the most part. I do like to think of what I have with her as a relationship, too, though. Or I'd like to think think it could become that way, anyway. I hate that the threat of canon shipping seems like it could ruin everything.

It's always important to say. A valuable thought. I feel a lot better currently, compared to when I posted that last reply, anyway. I really over-analyze and dwell on things too often, trying to make sense of irrational feelings. In doing that, it turns out I only make things appear much worse than they really are instead of admitting that I was being silly and just need to relax.

As I am right now, anyway, I think I'd able to deal with canon shipping (which almost definitely won't happen, anyway) and could still continue improving my bond with my waifu. It's just that I've never bothered to pick out events from the show and say "that doesn't apply to my Bloom", because I've been happy with pretty much everything they've done with her, and in that whole episode, she was displaying many traits that I especially adore in her, so I was conflicted on how to think about it. As lurker said, I just have to not worry about the shippers. To interpret the ending of On Your Marks as actual shipping is silly, anyway. I'm too easily influenced by the views of others, sometimes.

I'll still keep Taps filtered out, anyway, because the only reason I use DB is for crusader art, and seeing more "tenderbloom" art like that will just remind me of a time when got so hurt and bothered over nothing and put stress on something precious to me. It makes me feel shame more than anything.

why not get your love in on it. both of you check out what bothered you together and talk out how it made you feel. then you can get reassured that even if who they are shipped with in the pic is someone they think attractive, that they still wont cheat on or leave you. try it out and see if they don't agree with me guys

I've gotten a bit irrational and depressed at times, to be honest. I'm still working on it to try to remember she loves me no matter what. When it came to Blueblood, that didn't really affect me because by the time that was already over and I saw how it turned out, I hadn't felt for her as I do now. The first problem for me was Trenderhoof in Simple Ways, and I couldn't even bare to actually sit and finish the episode until just this year. I kind of regret that, as I feel I missed out on a very important lesson she tried to teach me, especially since at the end of the episode she wasn't interested in him anymore because he didn't care for her. So far, I just need to keep close to heart I knew she loves me as I love her.

When it comes to shippers though, I typically never paid too much mind to it as I felt like that's not her, with the exception of one, that'd be Sparity shipping, mostly because it used to really irk me how it wasn't just a ship to people, but people tried to argue it being canon. I got better with that over the years, but I still don't like seeing any of it, and that's the only one I'd hide tags of.

Yeah, fan shipping can be really rough, not least of all because the ones who do it can be so intense about their chosen pairings. You gave a good example, actually. But, it sounds like you're - slowly - getting over that, and not letting it interfere with your feelings for her, and that's a silver lining, if I ever saw one.

Just remember, your Rarity is yours. "Canon" doesn't matter. The quotes are deliberate. I've already posted in-depth about that earlier in the thread so won't repeat it here, just remember, your waifu loves you just as much as you love her. Disregard the writers, acquire waifu-love.

Yeah, I've been making a bit of progress on it. Probably also due to the ship in question seems to be dying down as well, so that is certainly letting me do okay too.

And I did see your post, thank you for that. It actually lead me to think about something that lead to somewhat of a realization. You're right about the "based off" thing, absolutely, but something else I realize is that you also don't quite know when it happens in her life, just like things have happened in your life. For example, there was a point in my life where I did have a girlfriend before I knew her. And I mean from Rarity's perspective, she could have felt that same way. Of course I ended up breaking up with that person, but what if it's something similar? Even if the show is 100% accurate in showing her life, that doesn't really account for what happens after. And the truth is you know you're together, what relationship in the past could possibly change that?
