What inspires you
To do the beautiful things you do?
Is it the rain on an April day
What does that mean to you?
Is it for the melodious sounds
That come from a radio?
The upbeat swing that abounds
On the beach in the afternoon?
Is it the feeling of suede
Draped over your figure?
Was it how nightly I prayed
For one like you?
Is it the gentle caress
Of one heart next to the other
Is it the togetherness
That makes you the picture of loveliness?
What it is that makes you how you are
I doubt I will ever know
I'll never know how I was so blessed as to be with you
Only that I love you so.

I look into her eyes
They show her sleepiness
But soon we shall be ready
We've waited years for this
The cooler sets before us, loaded to its brim
Others told us not to go
But we knew never to listen to them
And soon, we'll be on our way
She's a part of the dream I've always had
Even though I didn't know her at the time
And though we are both exhausted
The feeling is oh-so sublime
But the best thing of all
Is that she could be convinced to go
That into my arms she'd fall
Willing to be uncomfortable for me
I know this may not be conventional
But neither are we
I know that no other can ever hold me
Candy, could this trip last for eternity?

The joy of seeing you every day

To seek pleasure some other selfish way?

Though it may seem easier at times

When lightning pierces the sky
And thunder cracks, a murderous lullaby
How do you find your peace
How does your panic cease?
Does your comfort come from confidence,
Simply telling yourself "I've got this"?
Or does it happen, perchance,
That you can write it off as happenstance?
No, my love, I find you in my embrace
When you endure trials that you struggle to face
And this the the true showcase of our feelings
That we may trust each other in all our dealings.

Today, for me, is a day of celebration
And a day to contemplate liberty
A day to push away all sadness
A day to recognize that we are free
But the greatest freedom I feel
Doesn't come from the United States
It's the feeling of love that seeing you
Within me creates
So I take this time to thank
The God that allows me to be with you
To see the love you have saved for me
And to see the beautiful things you do
So as the fireworks explode above me
Creating a neon patchwork sky
I tell you that their gleam
Cannot match the beauty of the gleam in your eye
I tell you that our secret talks
Our confessional in the dead of night
Cannot be drown out by bursting bombs
Even at their greatest height
Though children shriek happily in the street
And the barking of dogs break the evening peace
Through the noise and confusion
We find our spirits at ease
I may be patriotic for my country
But there is something I love dearly that is not here
And that need unfulfilled by my homeland
Is the presence of you, my dear
Happy Fourth of July, oh one I love
And though the cliche of it may seem a bore
It is the freedom to see you, my dearest,
