S2E17 Hearts and Hooves Day

Wow, talk about timing. Anyway, this episode is definitely a good lesson for shippers to learn. Don't try to force things that aren't there for sure. Though it seems like that message didn't quite get through. Anyway I didn't think the CMC were out of character this episode or anything of that nature. Sweetie Belle was kinda the one who "led" the group, and she often is responsible for this kind of crazy stuff. Apple Bloom as always was the most level-headed of the group. And the song itself was cute. I think it was a rather sweet episode, even though it may not be one I return to anytime soon.

S2E18 A Friend In Deed

This is a really great Pinkie Pie episode, without a shred of doubt for sure. Smile is definitely a classic song, and I think it's really good episode on showing on who she is. And although Rari didn't have any lines, I love the little slip of dialogue that said Rari went out of her way to make a wig for Cranky. It's the little things from her I adore. But all in all, I think this is one of Pinkie's best episodes, and for me one of the very good non-Rari ones I've seen.

S2E19 Putting Your Hoof Down

Iron Will is a fun character, that's for sure. Be great to see him come back. And I like seeing Pinkie with Rari, they're fun together. But aside from that, I can't say I liked this one. It seemed like everyone except for Rari, Pinkie and Iron Will became really big jerks rather quickly. And I do really wish there was a bit at the end where Fluttershy apologized for what she said, especially calling Pinkie "simple" I think that was way too far. So I'm not sure this episodes sits the most comfortable with me.

I agree. In this episode -
The good: Iron Will
The bad: Everything Else.

S2E20 It's About Time

This might be another one of my favorite non-Rari ones, I think it's fun, and has a very sweet message that can be taken to heart, don't spend so much time worrying about the future. It's done in a fun way, and seeing Twilight as this I thought was fun and entertaining. Very good episode for me.

S2E21 Dragonquest

Not a strong opinion on this one, except Rarity says "Spikey-Wikey" waaaaaay too much. Very overused. But at least it was nice to see Rari, Twilight and Dash all doing something together, that was fun at least. Spike didn't interest me too much in the episode however. But not much else to say there. More Rarity with Twilight and Dash please!

S2E22 Hurricane Fluttershy

I think this was goof for the pegasus ponies, though I did notice something rather odd. It seemed like the face animations were rather odd at times. They seemed out of place in many places. But the montage was also pretty fun, and Dash organizing the whole thing was really cool to see. And Spitfire is always cool to see too.

S2E23 Ponyville Confidential

I didn't realize I dislike this one quite a bit. Kind of a shame, it looks like I really don't have any episodes to look forward to until S4 at this rate. But Rarity herself isn't a gossiper like this episode claims, none of the Mane 6 are. And this episode just shows how bad they make Sweetie Belle quite honestly. I mean publishing her sister's diary, thinking that would result in a cutie mark? That's insane. I can't even think how I'd react if my brother did that, I'd probably give her the exact same kind of treatment honestly. Sure she said she didn't really like doing it, but absolutely ludicrous that she did it anyway. This one honestly more upset me if anything, especially that Sweetie Belle ends up doing something like that. If my diary was published like that I'd be furious, so just thinking about her sister doing that makes me really upset.

S2E24 MMMystery on the Friendship Express

I guess I'm just going to keep powering on through this marathon of episodes I dislike. It really honestly seemed a bit out of character that Rari, and Fluttershy and Dash of course, couldn't restrain themselves for Pinkie and how important this was to her. Not to mention the episode just end on Pinkie eating the whole thing herself anyway. There's one thing I can't stand in any episode of any show, and that's feeling like my time was wasted, and honestly I felt like that happened here. Especially since after finding out the culprits Pinkie just says "It's okay, oh everyone else did something too." Like there was no resolution, it just happened. And again, it goes back to could no one restrain themselves to wait until the competition when samples would inevitably be given out?

I rewatched Rarity Investigates! immediately after this one. That's definitely an infinitely better way to handle a "detective" type of episode.

S2E25 A Canterlot Wedding Part 1

When I first saw this one I didn't think it was so bad, but in hindsight, now having several other seasons under our belt, I dislike this as it kinda set the stage for a lot of things I dislike later on. Strictly talking about Part 1, it introduces that concept that gets used in every other premier and finale after that everyone else except Twilight is an idiot or falls victim to whatever the villain does, or just stands on the sidelines. It's not as bad here, but as it's the first time it happens it really marks the start of it being a trend. And the introduction of Cadence as a brand new princess honestly didn't make me think until now. How it really does break up quite a bit of alicorn lore at the time, stuff that I never thought of beforehand. Well the BBBFF song is really cute and catchy.
