RE: Movies just watched - Theatre V1 - Ziggy and Angelbaby - 11-10-2015 Babe, mom, and I watched Old Dogs; a Disney comedy starring Robin Williams and John Travolta. The only thing I found funny while watching the film was Babe's running commentary. xD She makes even bad films enjoyable. I know it's been said eight billion times by now, but Robin Williams' talent (comedic and otherwise) was squandered miserably in films like these. RE: Movies just watched - Theatre V1 - Kadae - 11-17-2015 So I watched Castle in the Sky for the first time earlier as the start to a Ghibli/Zelda marathon I'm doing with my friend. Personally, I think that was an incredible movie! I haven't seen many of the Ghibli movies, but man, if they're supposed to get better as they go, then this is going to be a wild ride! The first Japanese animated film I ever saw (I was five or younger) was Nausicaa of the Valley of the Wind (formerly called Warriors of the Wind in the VHS dub); that's a particularly good one. It's the greatest thing ever! Once we watch NausicaƤ of the Valley of the Wind, I'll have to tell you about the experience. I hope Princess Mononoke and Howl's Moving Castle are on that list. /)^3^(\ RE: Movies just watched - Theatre V1 - Kadae - 11-17-2015 (11-17-2015, 12:10 PM)Ziggy and Angelbaby Wrote: Awesome. x ) We're planning to watch them all in no specific order, so those two are on the list. I'm really looking forward to Princess Mononoke in particular! RE: Movies just watched - Theatre V1 - Kadae - 11-17-2015 I watched Only Yesterday and Porco Rosso! Only Yesterday was a beautifully animated movie, but the environments and characters didn't grip me as they did in Castle in the Sky. I'd say it was well-executed, but it wasn't for me. Porco Rosso was light-hearted and very charming in its own unique way, and I liked it quite a bit! It wasn't amazing, but the watch was certainly a fun one. More Ghibli films to come tomorrow! RE: Movies just watched - Theatre V1 - Kadae - 11-20-2015 I watched Grave of the Fireflies a couple days ago and, well, I really didn't like it. Of those that I've seen so far, this one's my least favourite Ghibli movie. The two main characters were somewhat bland, the lead was unlikable, the movie had nowhere near enough character development and there was no real point to it all. That's how I felt anyway. I can't really going into specifics as that would spoil the movie for anyone who hasn't seen it, but that covers the main problems I had with it. RE: Movies just watched - Theatre V1 - Dancerofdeath - 11-20-2015 Chrysalis and I rewatched castle in the sky a truly amazing masterpiece such rich character development and compelling story RE: Movies just watched - Theatre V1 - Kadae - 11-20-2015 (11-20-2015, 12:26 PM)Dancerofdeath Wrote: Chrysalis and I rewatched castle in the sky a truly amazing masterpiece such rich character development and compelling story I love Castle in the Sky.
