ok so guys I made a script that sets the wifi card in your computer to act like a wifi hotspot. so if you have a wired connection or just want a private wifi where everything has to go through your computer and thus through your firewall and security.
either way this should work because it basically sets up a "hosted virtual network" through your wifi and everything sees that virtual network as a normal hotspot with a wpa2 password.
now im not gonna post the script directly in this thread unless mods approve because until i rephrase the feedback it displays to the user it will make kinky references simply because i was bored when making it.
these of course can be taken out of the script and it can be tailored to even address you by whatever name you wish.
that said it is actually siimple to do and focuses on about 4 or 5 commands in command prompt in windows.
this script is an easy batch file that walks you through both activating the network and even deactivating it when done.
the only real user interaction is just to read and maybe change a few things in your system if needed the first time.
anyhoo guys if anyone is interested in the commands or even a tailor made script then please feel free to pm me about it.

I thought Windows could do this via the gui, but I suppose it isn't exactly obvious.
Anyway, I don't see why you can't post it. Just give explicit instructions for those who aren't tech savy.

actually it can't to my knowledge though it is possible. however i have tested it and found i ca not share a hosted network to give out internet access if i am receiving that access through the same WiFi card so this may actually only work to broadcast a WiFi signal for those who have a wired connection.
as for the doing it in the GUI... sure you can make an adhoc network but at-least in the last few versions of windows for some reason it refuses to broadcast and be the access point of an adhoc... i used to use that mode in xp i think but even then it was difficult if not impossible to make a machine begin broadcasting instead of always waiting on other machines... it was worthless. this script though does completely different in that it will allow you, if you have set a wired connection to enable being shared to other machines, to basically make your machine a WiFi hotspot for other machines that cant get to the wired connection. but this needs testers to make sure it works if anyone wants to help
