URGENT. - Kaltes-Herzeleid - 07-15-2015 Okay, I'll just cut to the chase. My computer updated itself today...and now whenever I try to access DeviantArt and Facebook...it loads it for a few seconds and freezes. Completely. Can't move the mouse arrow or anything. If anybody else is on dA...is this happening to you too? Is it the sites? Is it my computer? What should I do? Please help. RE: URGENT. - Sour Soul - 07-15-2015 I can access both sites. Do you know what kind of update was it? Please tell us the details to help you further. RE: URGENT. - Kaltes-Herzeleid - 07-15-2015 (07-15-2015, 12:43 PM)Sour Soul Wrote: I can access both sites. Everytime I get back on the internet I keep getting a message from the adblock thing...saying it's been updated...I kinda doubt that has to do with anything though...it never specified what updated and what hadn't. It was just an update thing. :/ RE: URGENT. - Star Swift - 07-15-2015 It is unlikely that the websites themselves are what are causing the freezes, likely instead to be the cause of the many many flash/Java based adds and interfaces that they both run in the background. Chances are something is causing a conflict if something didn't get properly updated, or it could be your browser is out of date to the point it is interacting badly with the plugins itself and your newly updated OS. Went ahead and updated my adblock...didn't help. Seems likely it is the sites...anyway I could fix this with an update somehow? (Like how do I get it to update) RE: URGENT. - D.Va - 07-15-2015 (07-15-2015, 01:03 PM)Kaltes-Herzeleid Wrote:(07-15-2015, 12:49 PM)Star Swift Wrote: It is unlikely that the websites themselves are what are causing the freezes, likely instead to be the cause of the many many flash/Java based adds and interfaces that they both run in the background. There's probably a lot of background stuff running, check your processes and maybe try disabling your extensions or plugins of your browser. Does the freezing only start when you browse websites ? Well, apparently my virus stuff needs updating...every time I try it won't do it because their website is down for repairs. How do I check processes and disable extensions...? (Sorry, I'm technologically incompetent) Yeah, it's just dA and Facebook that freeze *and Tumblr*. This, Youtube, and everything else seem to be fine. I assume you are on Chrome. Click the three lines at the top left of the browser > settings > extensions then disable the plugins.
