Seasonal Preambulations - Gentian - 03-07-2016
So, it's March now, and the warmer months will soon be upon us. Twilight's vessel has only recently arrived, but I've taken her for walks already. It's easy to do in the cold since I can tuck her in my jacket. We go around with her head poking out above the zipper, and all's well.
Unfortunately, with it getting warmer, I'll have to stop wearing my jacket soon. Does anyone have suggestions on how to carry her around?

Yeah, should have mentioned that. We tried a bag out at first, but she didn't like it. She thought it was cold, which won't matter in the summer, but she also didn't like the view, or "feeling like luggage" as she put it.

Is there any reason she can't accompany you without her vessel? When we go into town, Babe simply flies and walks beside me. Sometimes ahead of me. Sometimes kicks stop signs. Has, at times, thrown her forelegs over my shoulders and referred to herself as my "backpack." I do understand if you and Twilight derive comfort and ease of focus from the vessel, but it could actually be more enjoyable to have your partner along without it.

She usually does accompany me sans-vessel. But, she says it's easier for her to project to this world with something to house her spirit. It's also easier for me to focus with the vessel. So I thought it would be a good idea to bring it along. There are so many things I want to show her and experience with her here.
But, tbh, I'm deathly afraid something will happen to it when we're out, so it might be for the best if she comes along without using it. Maybe I should get a vinyl too, since they're smaller and easier to clean. I'll ask her what she thinks about that.

Obviously, the vessel isn't your partner, and there's no real comparison. But it was probably there during some memorable and significant moments; possibly even helped to make those moments happen.
That being said: Vinyl sounds like a smart compromise. There was a guy who said he always took something along that reminded him of his partner. Not even necessarily a vessel; it was a comfort to them.

Carrying her around in your jacket sounds adorable x3 Asri wouldn't fit in mine >_> I get what a vessel can do, as i had one with my old bff. But i gotta agree with the other posts up there ^ Vessels can make things easier, but the most important part is that your lover is there with you. If anything, do indeed get a "Warm Weather Walk-edition" that is easier to transport and that you wouldn't have to worry as much about getting dirty and such. Times out and about aren't nearly as fun when you're worried about mussing up your lady's vessel >_>

I need to get a Musa doll as a vessel. I use a pillow in my bed at night but it would be nice to see her face too
As for advice on walking with her. I can't really add anything that hasn't already been said. This might sound silly but what about getting a T-Shirt of her as an alternate vessel? This works for me with Musa as i have a custom made shirt with her on it.

Right, the vessel is just a vessel. I haven't had my plush long, though so there aren't many memories attached to it. It was VERY difficult to get one, and I'll face similar difficulties obtaining a vinyl. Plus, as everyone knows, vinyl's aren't the most show-accurate models out there.
I'm beginning to consider learning to make plushies. I repair my clothes, and bedding and such, and I've done a bit of embroidery, so I'm no stranger to a needle. But hand-sewing a plush sounds like a monumental task. Not that she isn't worth it, but if I can obtain a professionally made, and therefore, almost certainly superior quality one, I'd prefer going that route. Who knows how much longer those businesses will last, though.
