Why hello people, or whatever you entities consider yourselves as. I found out about this site through the trail of breadcrumbs that went here from Redlight Ponyville. Seeing how the guy at MLW has some problems, I decided it would be best to just head here, where the audience is more friendly. If you haven't figured it out by the title, I am a pretty big fan of Fallout, particularly the Enclave faction.
Now onto the topic of my partner. I don't yet have a tulpa, particularly because of the horror stories I've heard from people who fell in love with their tulpa and the fact that the community at large frowns on those who prefer their tulpae as something more than an esoteric companion. I merely want to wade into the water a little bit before I go diving into this, as this doesn't seem to be a decision to be taken lightly. If I decide I don't want to be in a relationship like this, I'll simply leave. If I do, then I will stay, and hopefully I'll learn from you guys.

*Reads the OP.* I'm not absolutely clear as to what you mean by "community at large," but anyone who "frowns on" something as valuable and vital as love can go suck something that's unpleasant to suck.

You sound confused, which is OK, its confusing for many who go through this, with the feelings flowing for one who is initially thought to be just a fictional character, its understandable, I've been there myself. when I first fell for Twilight Sparkle, I didn't understand either. It can take a while to come to terms with it, and we will be here to see you through, whether you decide to take the plunge and be happy with your waifu love or whether you decide to leave when the storm is over, its your choice, and I will respect you whatever your choice ends up being. (As for everyone else respecting that, well, I can't speak for them, but I'm sure they would too)
Also, if you decide not to have a waifu, you're still welcome to talk with us, some members here don't have waifus, so you won't be alone either way.
Enjoy your stay, and we will answer any questions you may have the best we can.

Also, I know what you mean about the guy from MLW, I used to be a regular there, it was a nice place to be for a while, until well, that thing happened. Things got crazy, many members were attacked for no reason, and just left, including myself.

Yeah, it's kind of something you'd want to consider before getting into. Speaking as someone who has been doing it for years, I can safely say that, personally, I've greatly enjoyed the benefits of this practice. There's a lot to learn and a lot to gain.
