This literally occurred hours ago at two something in the morning...and holy hell did it freak me out.

I've never had a phobia of snakes, in fact I've generally been indifferent to the slithering reptile.

Yeah...totally different story when one thinks it's a fantastic idea to make its way into your bedroom. I was laying around, enjoying a late night episode of House as I have these past couple of months when I notice one of my cats inspecting something in the corner near my door. This is nothing new really, they do that whenever something like a spider gets into the place, so I get up to inspect whatever the cat's nosing at.

See something wriggling.

I think its a worm for about a second or two until I realize its slithering...then I see the head. Oh fuck its a snake.

Cue bellowing for mom to wake up and help get rid of it. Now why didn't I do it myself, you ask? Well bear in mind this was just a puny baby snake that could move very quickly the second I turn away, and this thing is fucking tiny and a big snake is capable of hiding well enough as is, last thing we need to go on a snake hunt at two at night. There are dozens of places in my room it could've hidden anyway. Luckily it was just a non poisonous one...but hey, suppose it got brave and decided to bite a cat that got too close for whatever reason, and the male cat wanted to get at it to investigate more. Or kill it. Or both. Either way it's not a good situation.

Luckily we got it out of the house without much of a fuss, but it still freaked me the hell out. Let's just say I didn't sleep well.

In the shitty trailer where I used to live, we had everything from giant cockroaches to skinks to, on two occasions, a snake get inside. I'll never forget the first time I spotted the damned thing. I turned towards the front door and saw a rat snake, several feet in length, CLINGING to the wall and door frame; up about as high as the light switch. I think I went to go, Idunno, get something (not sure what the hell I planned on doing), and it had moved on by the time I returned.

My grandfather ultimately came over, managed to step on the reptile's head (pinning it in place), and I grabbed the rest of it and tossed it into some container with a lid. It was released into the brush by the side of the road; a ways down from where I lived.
