I'm not sure that crushing the spirit of a child during their early, formative years is really the way to go. No, the world certainly isn't perfect, but at least a couple of loving parents can try and give their child a happy childhood without handing them some heavy emotional baggage from the get-go. That child will doubtless have plenty of time to bemoan the state of things during their angst-ridden teenage years.

I don't necessarily think we really try to convince kids that the world is absolutely perfect, but I do think planting some positive seeds of thought at a young age would help healthy mental development. To start off so early with such a negative outlook on life really has very few to no benefits.

It's also a matter of perspective. Depending on who you are, how you feel, what you value, how hard you strive to achieve what you set out to do and a variety of other factors, the pleasantness of life varies greatly.
