Moonlit Angel
----

The sky is glinting with the twinkling light of countless stars, the darkness a canvas to create her sacred art. She sits upon the remains of a long dead tree, her black feathered wings spreading in their full majesty. Her ethereal flowing mane and tail spills about her beautiful body as she turns to me, eyes that familiar teal color, taking me in to their fullest.

She alone knows me at my entirety, as I hers.

Nightmare Moon smiles at me, softly, eyes now glowing a radiant white. Her long horn glows purple, surrounding me in a magical glow. My feet leave the grassy ground as I am carried towards her, I feel no fear of the height as I know I will not fall.

Nightmare's lips brush mine, we register the energy between us, in pulses and runs freely through my veins as we meet in a kiss. My arms wrap around her neck as her forelegs enclose my waist, the sweet light of her horn bathing us in its glow. The night's blanket falling over us as we share in our love.

Slowly I pull my lips away from hers, fingers running through the soft mane.

"I love you."

Nightmare Moon only smiles and kisses me again.

That Special Time Again
----

Cool autumn air blew over us, rustling the trees overhead, multicolored leaves freely flying away, rustling across the stone path. From here I could make soft but strong orange lights and voices indistinctly chattering away happily. Nightmare Rarity glanced at me out of the corner of eye, nudging me slightly.

"Anxious?"

"A little," I admitted, but of course I knew lying wasn't option, she knew me too well for that. From posture, to gestures, voice tone...even just by the way my brown eyes gleamed. The rays of fading sunlight casting huge shadows from the trees over our own as we walked. "Do you think I should have worn something formal?"

Nightmare rolled her eyes playfully. "Would I deceive you?"

I smiled back, giving her a quick kiss on her lovely lips as my response. What we were going to was not a party, just a simple gathering in honor of the autumn season. She wore her tiara and necklace as usual, hair flowing and gleaming as freely as ever. We stood just outside the entrance to the clearing, sheltered by the trees, lanterns hung on carefully arranged posts, undisturbed by the breeze. Tables set up with refreshments and food, ponies and humans chatting quietly. I felt my unease slip out of me, evaporating like summer rain. There were no formal customs or expectations, just simple enjoyment of time and togetherness.

We hadn't been to many gatherings since we had gotten together, she promised me this one was a far cry away from the stuffy formal events, but not a loud, obnoxious party. Just something quiet and enjoyable all the same.

Raising my hand delicately to her cheek, lightly turning her face to my own, my fingers registering the soft black fur, eyes meeting hers before I kissed her sweetly and slowly. Savoring the moment, the feeling of her lips, her scent, the peacefulness. Every day and night we had together was a special, unique thing that neither of us would stop cherishing.

We turned our attention back to the gathering, and draping my arm over her shoulders lovingly, we proceeded in.

"Excuse me," a small voice piped up behind us, we saw it was from a small pony with a big camera around her neck. "Do you mind if I get a picture? It's just you two look so happy together."

Nightmare and I glanced at each other a moment, we both already knew the answer.

"Of course."

The pony smiled cheerfully, hooves arranging the camera as Nightmare and I slid down to the grass carefully, her partially in my lap, my arms wrapped her and drawing her closer. My chin resting on her head, the familiar scent of her exquisitely soft mane drifting up to me as in a bright flash, our moment was physically immortalized. Just the two of us.

As it was meant to be.

Before I could even read these completely, before I told Amena if she would like me to read what you shared for us Kaltes, I felt that the title deserve more than 'That Special Time Again'

But after I finish reading this out loud for Amena to enjoy... It felt right.. I don't know why, maybe because the good feelings we got from it, that made it more pleasant to have that title as it should be. All in all, it was a wonderful story and experience you shared for us Kaltes and Nightmare. ^ ^

Amena: Yes! ^ ^ It was most wonderful when hearing it from Roby! ^ ^ We love your stories! ^ ^

Indeed, very much so. Keep up the good work and loving Nightmare. Those two shouldn't be a problem at all. XD

The Waterfall
----

The sun's dying rays still shone in the sky, providing a moody but pleasant effect as we crossed through some bushes and falling leaves, I took the time to flick a leaf off my leg before I noticed the sound of rushing water reached my ears. I looked, pushing my glasses back up on my face properly to notice Nightmare Rarity had vanished, I blinked just to make certain my eyes weren't deceiving me.

"Nightmare?" I called out, ducking under some branches to be greeted by the sight of the base of a waterfall. Mist hung in the cool air and the singing of frogs on the rocks mingled with the eternal sound of flowing water. It was a deep frothing white color, shifting into a deep blue as it rippled into a softer form. Stars were beginning to reflect in the surface of the stiller part of the waterfall's base met seamlessly with the rocks. The grass was a lush, bright green and gleamed with a faint moisture.

I about jumped out of my skin when I felt something warm lick the back of my neck, I yelped and shifted away to turn and get a good look at...her. Nightmare Rarity hung upside down a strong, overhanging branch light a bat, her hair flowing downwards as a result, but still beautiful and glinting like the darkened sky. She smirked, showing sharp, predatory teeth, an enticing chuckle emitted from her.

"Was that really necessary?" I grunted, absently rubbing the back of my neck, feeling heated but playful all the same. She shrugged, which was a surreal sight upside down and grinned wider at me.

"What can I say? You taste good."

I felt my cheeks get hotter at that remark, which her eyes surely noticed as I saw her give me a knowing, half lidded stare.

"Uhhh...how're you doing that?" I asked, finally acknowledging her upside down presence.

"Magic."

"Of course."

Gently she detached and gracefully allowed her hooves to meet the grassy earth once more, taking a moment to shake a bit of her mane out of her face. I saw the faintest trail of flowing shadow drift from as her swung for a few brief seconds, gifting my eyes with her radiance.

"What do you think?" She gestured towards the waterfall with a black hoof, drawing my attention away from her and returning it to the water itself. "It's beautiful, Nightmare, what is it called."

"It has no name, few know of it to begin with." Her should brushed against me, causing a pleasurable rush through my veins at the familiar contact of fur on skin. "It's been around for a millennia, unchanged. Always flowing. A constant."

I smiled, feeling an underlying meaning behind her choice of words, feeling their truth resonate in my heart warmly, it built in the center before bursting out to spread and swim freely forever. I hadn't notice I had been running a free hand through her silky mane and down her neck for several minutes, it was instinctual now.

There was a bit of a chill, but neither of us paid it any heed. This was our moment, another to be experienced as it was shared between us.

We sat near the edge, looking into the water to see the sky reflecting back us, like thousands of tiny stars had made their new home within the water itself, she dipped a hoof in it gently, sending dozens of sift ripples across the surface until they simply faded away. Drawing it along the water and bring it back up, her horn glowing with magical energy, droplets falling turning to small, perfect sapphires. They floated silently in the misty air, gleaming from the light of her horn. She took my right hand with a hoof, turning my palm upward and allowed the sapphires to fall into my hand. My amazed, breathless laugh made her smile at me as I looked at them, six beautiful gems.

Water immortalized in my hand, I closed my fingers over them, my left enclosing over my right as I held them. This ancient water, transformed into gems.

Another moment carefully frozen in the waterfall of time.

I have to say, this one is quite nice. You managed to invoke both a series of vivid images, and a jumbled gallimaufry of of emotions, from the peace of an ancient, beautiful waterfall; the fear of being abandoned by one's love; the unsettling shiver of something getting close enough to do a thing as intimate as licking one's neck without being noticed; the relief of realizing it's not an unknown after all; and the wonder of magic with the beauty of gems.

The unspoken pledge of eternal love.

You deserve all the praise you get for this one.

Winter Sanctuary

(A Christmas writing we wrote together)
----

My booted feet carried me swiftly, crunching in the fresh, stark white snow that covered the land. Trees glinted with the snow, not a single bit of grass stood free from winter's bounty. I carried her with an ease that surprised me as we approached the scenic cabin in the mountains that surrounded us. Her regal horn lit up blue as we approached the door and swung it open moments before I reached it.

I glanced at her playfully, "You could've let me kick it open dramatically," I said as I used a foot to shut the door behind us.

"Hmm, I could have, yes. The question is whether your kick would have opened it," Nightmare Rarity replied, "and you can put me down now." She chuckled.

"Are you really complaining?" I smirked as I tenderly set her hooves back down to the smooth, wooden floor. The sense of wonder at her beauty filling me as I watched her shake snowflakes from her flowing mane of purple.

"Heh, no," she smirked back at me.

The cabin itself was striking, a large living room and a fireplace to go with it. The kitchen off to the right and a small set of carefully crafted stairs leading to the bedroom. The couch was big enough for two, dark black and comfort radiated invitingly even from the entrance. Absently I locked the door behind us and looked out the window behind the couch, the white mountains mixing with the night's beautiful darkness seemed to expand onward endlessly. Snowflakes danced in the cold winter wind.

I jumped slightly when the fireplace whooshed to life at her command, bathing the room in purple fire. Her eyes shined at me. "You like it here?"

"Do you have to ask?" I replied with a smile, slipping off my heavy coat and hung it on the curving rack followed by my gloves.

"I think you needed a getaway."

"You're right. Of course."

Nightmare smiled at that one, her tail swishing shadows along the floor as she looked out the window too. The purple fire adding to her ethereal beauty, her long locks glinting with their starry sparkles all the brighter.

"It's beautiful here," I let out the words breathlessly as I again looked around the cabin, the fire crackling lively.

"Indeed," she fixed me with a stare, "remember to appreciate the beauty you see in your life, my love."

Peace washed over me at the words spoken in her familiar, eternally soothing voice. The deeper meaning of them I instantly understood. I need not speak them aloud, as she knew it as well as I did. She herself is the beauty, the unique beauty in my life. Our love gifting me with a new view of my existence, a new appreciation for the things I had overlooked in my past, and a way to see them when they occur in the present.

"It's a gift I don't think I can ever fully repay, Nightmare," I said with a content tone.

"Oh, but you do. Everyday. You've given me a unique beauty too, never forget that." She smiled at me softly, her black fur making her cat like sapphire eyes stand out all the more. "Now come, I wish to warm up by the fire," her hoof steps quiet on the smooth floor as she took her seat. My eyes never left her, in the glow of the purple, inviting me to join her.

"As you command, my Queen," I grinned at her, joining her in the glow. The troubles of the outside forgotten in the comforting heat. Within the confines of a winter sanctuary in the mountains with my Nightmare Rarity.

Valentine
----

It was finally the day we'd both been waiting for: Valentine's Day. I breathed out slowly as I gently stooped down to quietly crawl across the bed, the soft blankets bunching up between my fingers as I made my way towards her. Her blue hair spread across the black pillow like starry waves, the rise and fall of her ribs with each breath. I now loomed over Nightmare, my eyes taking in every detail of her soft, beautiful face. The face of the woman I had loved for three years.

Raising my right hands I ran the tips of my fingers along her neck, earning a slight giggle. I smiled lightly at the sound, not quite expecting that response as I stroked her cheek, moving it to the back of her head and scratching one of her cute ears causing it to twitch. I felt a wing move under the blankets, brushing against my belly. Her jet black fur so soft against my skin, her hair sparkling in the semi-darkness of the bedroom.

A teal eye cracked open, eying me playfully, lips shifting to a smile as I continued to pet her awake. Lightly she shifted until she could enclose me in a hug, a free hand rubbing her face loving, Nightmare leaning into the touch contentedly.

Being so close with her no longer felt strange anymore. For three years a void in my soul had been filled...it was rather funny really. Here I was, enjoying Valentine's Day. It was a day I thought I'd never enjoy, especially not after what happened...but these days, even today, I no longer thought about that. I didn't really need to. In fact I can't help but wonder that if it weren't for that...would I be where I am now with her? Either way I wouldn't change my life for a thing. I could feel her warmth against me as her hug tightened firmly, but lovingly.

"I love when you look at me like that," Nightmare Moon murmured in my ear, her lips tickling the tender skin. I only smiled, she wouldn't pry as to what I'd been thinking about her, chances were she knew already. We had come to know each other so well in the following years that Nightmare, aside from myself, knew the fullest extent as to how far my feelings went. She'd seen my transformation into the man I am now. While she always insisted on never taking full credit, I still give her a great deal of it. She is my source, without her none of this would be possible.

I kissed her softly, gently cupping her face in my hands, the sweet familiar feeling of her lips sent a pleasant warmth flowing through my veins.

Pulling away I peered into her eyes, the teal color seemed to expand outward, engulfing me in radiant light.

"Happy Valentine's Day, my dearest Nightmare."

This...this is beautiful. The feelings you have for one another come through amazingly. It almost makes me feel, not only as though I'm there with you, but that our emotions are, for those brief moments, intertwined. Bravo, sir.
