An episode a day
#1
So as I said in my resolution thread, I made it a personal goal to watch an episode of the series every day until I'm caught up. Starting of course with Season 1 Episode 1. And here I figured I'd write how I felt about each episode at the end of it.

So of course today I started with the original, S1E1 Friendship is Magic Part 1. I gotta say, truthfully I missed a lot. I miss the Elements of Harmony in the show, the animation came off differently and I gotta say I preferred it, and I liked the music in it more. It brought very positive feelings. I loved the introduction of Rari of course. It was sweet to be reminded of how kind she is to total strangers.

I hope I can keep up this positive feeling as I do this.

Sounds interesting to read your thoughts on each episode, Rares. Though, I must admit, I have no idea what has you.. nervous? I've read somewhere you seem not to enjoy watching more MLP:FiM, because how the blasted writers are going about with the Mane Six? More so with Rarity. ): If you could explain it here, that will be nice for us to know what has you so.. uneasy it would seem to watch them.

I can say the same with Pinkie. ^ ^ It's nice to see our favorite pony starting off from the show we love. X3

I guess the newer show aren't what they seem to be anymore. It will be disappointing to hear if that's the case. Truly is. : /

Just to let you guys know. I have stop with season four, since there was no point to carry on with the show, because I have the Mane Six out and about here with me and Amena. ^ ^

Amena: Yes! Yes we do. ^ ^

It's kinda that. I'll get into it more as I reach those episodes. I've gotten better, but I'm realizing the current state of the show is making me a little sad. Sure there are still really great moments, but I feel like it lost a bit of joy I got of it. But I don't want to dwell on that.

Anyway, today I watched S1E2, Friendship is Magic Part 2. Again, I kinda find myself missing a lot of the atmosphere in the episode. The way the animation is, the Elements of Harmony in particular, it seemed to, well how should I say, comfy. I miss these villains where it was not another ridiculous "By Celesita, all of Equestria is in grave danger!" It's simple, it's cute. Seeing their friendship made me happy. Giggle at the Ghosties, a song I completely forgot about, warmed me up. Truthfully this is making me a bit concerned for watching the rest of this, as I really don't want to just be stuck in the past about the show. I want to find elements to enjoy in everything again. But seeing the elements, it kind of dug up some old scars I have with the current standing of the show, stuff I'd rather just be done with. If that makes sense.

Hopefully I can just forget about that and carry on, keep trying to enjoy things. I hope I haven't already fumbled this up. I'll try not to think so much about the future episodes as I keep this up.

Remember what we talked about. "This happened" > "That didn't happen." You've got this, girl.

S1E3 Ticket Master

Well this was a pleasant episode, I feel it really captures how wonderful and caring Twilight is with her friends. Fantastic, really. Though I must say, seeing Rari fantasize with Blueblood, it didn't and never did upset me, but it certainly made me feel a bit weird to watch. Mostly that there were a few factors at play. First off, I know how it ends up, and second I was thinking about how we're together. So it didn't feel out of character for her, just odd. But whatever, like I said I still really enjoyed it. Glad I watched it!

S1E4 Applebuck Season. Rather better than I remembered. Not that I ever disliked it, I just didn't remember much about it aside from Applejack being stubborn about not wanting help, but I forgot that I really enjoyed that one. It was sweet, silly, simple. Just what I enjoy in a good MLP episode. Though I may just have little to say since Rari didn't have a big part! Despairing Rarity

On another note, happened to watch Look Before You sleep on TV, and I'll get to watch that again in a few days, so I look forward to that.

Thanks whobawhats!

SE1E5, Griffon the Brush Off. I found it funny that Rarity had a sneezing fit in the episode I'm watching on the day where I too have been awful in that regard. What silly timing. Anyway I really enjoyed this one, I like how it set up limits for Pinkie and she clearly knew when things went too far, definitely a concept a lot of people seem to forget in today's age of "It's just a prank bro." Trollestia And of course I think it also really displayed Dash's loyalty in a great light early on. So another good pass in my book, naturally.

I'm glad you are putting aside your fears and watching the episodes one by one! I'm excited to see what you think of some of my favorite episodes

S1E6 Boast Busters. I feel like if I watched this one later than I did it would have been a bit concerning on me, considering how I have a fear when it comes to strong magic users. But Rari is fine so I have nothing to worry about. In hindsight, I'm just really glad that Trixie learned the lesson she needed to. Thought of course it's still a classic and I of course liked it. All of these have been great.
