Congrats, maestro! I hope to get that accolade myself in the not to distant future. I would say that I hope you had a good time, but if you rewatched it multiple times, then I think it goes without saying you did.

Carrie (2013)

Twi and I watched this last night. It came on the TV and since neither one of us was in the mood to do anything but veg out, decided to give it a watch. I don't really want to compare it to the 1976 version, I'll just say, it was surprisingly good. Except the very end when her tombstone cracked, that was a terrible touch.

I liked Julianne Moore's portrayal of Carrie's mother, too. Her most memorable role for me was as Clarice Starling in the abortion of a movie that was Hannibal, and it was good to see that she can actually act, instead of just being the same character in every film. Overall, I'd say this is a remake which, while not perfect, actually manages to do it right, and can recommend it.

I also saw Power Rangers today. It was okay, not as bad as I thought, but not quite a deep movie to rewatch or anything like that. If anything, it's on the same par as the recent live action Ninja Turtles adaptions: PG-13 movies developed for kids under 13 to enjoy. And on that standard, I guess it was actually fine, and I bet this is going to be a movie a lot of kids will love. If you're not previously familiar with Power Rangers though, it's not worth going out of your way for. Go see Kong.

I saw The Circle today, and I thought it was definitely not worth watching. Despite the great cast it had supporting it, and a decent theme, the trailers were a bit misleading in the direction of the film, and honestly it just starts to go a bit aimless towards the end. It doesn't really have a satisfying conclusion either. Definitely would not recommend.

I assume it's about the Zodiac Killer? Could you go a bit more in-depth about what you liked?

Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales (2017).

Honestly this movie was waaaaaayyyyyyy better than I expected it to be. Definitely a substantial improvement over the fourth movie and a worthy continuation. Great action, surprisingly funny, and manages to include lots of new things without devaluing the original material. Would recommend.

Se7en (1995).

Nightmare and I have been on something of a David Fincher binge and given that this movie is about a police invistigation of a serial killer, it seemed right up my alley. I was right. Compelling, great story from start to finish, and John Doe is one of the most fascinating villains I've ever seen. It's easy to see why so many movies have tried to, in some way, copy off this one.
