As a general sort of recommendation, I'd say give NHK ni Youkoso! a shot. As a bonus, it's got a decent English dub! One of very few shows I really love that I think you might like as well.
Of course, I could be way off and you might hate it, but I'm going with my gut here.
Having said that, what kind of show do you think you'd want to watch?
