I know that what I'll say will probably pale in comparison to your words, but I felt the need to jot down some of my own perspectives on things.
In regards to people's reactions to our loves and life choices, I feel as though it boils down to the simple sake of the fact that humans have the need to feel superior to others. I myself have been victim to this...it effected my life pretty deeply and took a long time to recover from this.
As for the bit of species difference, this is a subject near and dear to my heart as all the women I've deeply loved in life are non-human. I had to find out the hard way that this is apparently not "normal" in the eyes of some people, and I had the misfortune of experiencing how far some people will go with their objection to it. I think people fail to realize the term of anthropomorphic extends beyond the physical, if it has obviously human characteristics, can think and feel like us, talks, etc. It's anthro, period. That's how I've always seen it really.
