For Apple Bloom, I'd like for her to get appearances and roles that are at least secondary, throughout. I don't want to go 6+ episodes in a row without seeing her again, when there's plenty of plots that she could have fit well into in at least a minor way. The buckball episode, for example: It was important to the Apple family, and school was out. It made no sense for her not to have any appearance. So that's my main deal; more minor roles, to let her exist outside of CMC things.
Next, it probably isn't worth worrying about anymore, but I hope nothing and nobody is introduced to give me the kind of awful dread I felt through last year because of a tap-dancer. I hope she gets one episode about her and her feelings again (I love all of her episodes), and I very much hope for her to get some positive interaction with her family. That's something I really missed last year.
For the season in all, I'd like to feel like the characters really care about each-other. It was too often last year that they felt like props and tools for the cruel plots and I didn't like it. Just have more niceness and less conflict-driven episodes where unpleasant stuff takes up 80% of the time. People who defend everything in the show often use "cute ponies doing cute things" to say it's all fine confuse me, because I know I'd love it if it was "cute ponies doing cute things" and not mostly unkind and loveless things.
I want both Sweetie Belle and Scootaloo to get a focus episode each, too. Sweetie certainly deserves an episode that's not about tension in her relationship with Rarity, and more about positive traits of hers, and Scootaloo should get something cute, too, after all the feels stuff surrounding her.
