The heat sizzles from the sidewalk
Humidity in the midwestern air
But she strolls along casually
Without so much as a care
"She's one of those girls who seems to come in the spring
One look in her eyes and you forget everything..."
The song on the loudspeaker echos my thoughts
As her figure enters the doorway and the "welcome" chime rings
She stops to ogle the wares in my case
A Swarovski, 18 karrot
I dream to place it in her delicate hoof
So much that I can hardly bare it
Outside the typical crowd gathers
Hanging out the windows of their Rovers and Caddies
So many fine future trophy wives
Looking towards a future of swimming pools and sugar daddies
Even with a smorgasbord of choices
There is only one who captivates me
A small green pony standing before my checkout
Oh where, where could she be
She swishes her tail as she exits the store
With no purchase in her hoof
I wish I could hand her the world I live in
If only to serve as proof
But there is something more dear I chose to give her:
My Heart
Humidity in the midwestern air
But she strolls along casually
Without so much as a care
"She's one of those girls who seems to come in the spring
One look in her eyes and you forget everything..."
The song on the loudspeaker echos my thoughts
