How do you feel
When the darkness is real?
When evening begins to expand
Where does your heart land?

When lightning pierces the sky
And thunder cracks, a murderous lullaby
How do you find your peace
How does your panic cease?

Does your comfort come from confidence,
Simply telling yourself "I've got this"?
Or does it happen, perchance,
That you can write it off as happenstance?

No, my love, I find you in my embrace
When you endure trials that you struggle to face
And this the the true showcase of our feelings
That we may trust each other in all our dealings.
