I watched Esdeath as she quietly, and most importantly, happily wrote something in her journal. She wrote in it a lot these days. Her right leg neatly crossed over the left. Instead of staring, I thought it was high time I do something, silently I stood up, my heart thumping quicker in my chest.
Even faster when her eyes locked onto me like an eagle would from the sky. Her head titled quizzically and a smile graced her beautiful face. I only registered that I was moving towards her several seconds after I'd initially began moving in the first place. Standing before her I inched my knees to the carpeted floor, her blue hair seemed to glow in the light. Carefully I lifted myself closer to her, delicately lacing my fingers through hers, I noted her cheeks became a shade of crimson as our faces all but touched. I'd never been this forward with Esdeath, but now truly felt like the most appropriate time to do so. I should've done it a long time ago anyway.
I pressed my lips to hers tenderly, I was nearly startled by just how wonderfully soft they were. My heart may have very well done a jovial back flip when I heard Esdeath give a muffled but equally pleasant sigh and she promptly pulled me closer with her strong arms.
In her grasp now, we both reluctantly pulled away for air. My veins had the feeling of white lightning coursing through them as though something was preparing to jettison me skyward. Her lips glistened temptingly with a quick swipe of a tongue.
Smiling wide, she asked, "What brought that on?"
"We should have done that months before, Esdeath," my lips pulling into a grin I honestly don't think I could have concealed even if I had tried.
"Hm, how long have we known each other?"
"More than half the year I'd say."
She sat that there for a moment in what appeared to be contemplation until a decidedly pleased gleam flickered in her eyes. Gripping my chin she pulled me in for heated kiss, holding me tighter as we savored each other's sweet kiss.
Esdeath pulled back to flash me a mischievous smile.
"We'd better start making up for lost time, my love."
I barely even had time to beam like a happy idiot before she'd locked her lips with mine again.
