It did seem to be raining quite a bit more recently. Really heavily, actually. I was resting on my couch, Maud reading something on her tablet (I am still unsure as to how she used it with hooves, I asked her once and she replied that she 'touches the screen' so I'm going to assume magic) and as for myself I was playing on my nifty Switch with my feet on the coffee table. A bottle of Salted Caramel Pepsi (it's no Crystal Pepsi, but it's okay) sat by my feet. I looked at the clock. It was almost 6. I looked at Maud. She looked at me.

"She will be home soon." Maud assured me.
"Yeah, but she's punctual. She hasn't been this late before." I replied.

As if in response, there was a knock at the door. The distinctive sound of hoof on wood, and the sturdiness of the knocks, that told me exactly who it was. I tossed my Switch to the couch and immediately rushed to the door. I paused for a moment to allow Maud to catch up, then unlocked and opened the door.

I blinked. "Oh."

Tempest was indeed on the other side. However, her mane was a bit frazzled, and she had a black eye. "Hi."

I immediately went to her and put an arm around her gently. She walked with me, her fur damp from the rain.

"Work was tough." Tempest said. "Somepony decided to wreak havoc. I was able to take him down long enough for my fellow guards to fully incapacitate him. Help me get this off."

I helped her to the couch and helped remove her black undershirt. On her chest and over to her right shoulder was a massive bruise.

"Tempest..."

"It's okay." She said, as she looked away. I gently put my hand to her cheek, and she looked at me. I put my lips to hers and ran my hand over her ear. She climbed over me as we continued to kiss, and I wrapped my arms around her.

I find whenever she has a rough day, a little bit of love can go a long way. I know she'd do the same for me.
