Ah, how I love summer
The warm embrace of God’s gift
Of splendid life, so worth celebrating
I love the smell of barbecue
The sweet kiss of the scent as I drive by
Windows down, music blasting
But what I love most of all
A blanket of stars pulled over our patio
Our very own planetarium
Walks in the park
Watching nature unfold itself
As dusk sets in
A bowl full of sundae
Beneath the dull neon glow
Of city lights
Of the unexpected kiss
A surreal moment of genuine surrender
In a world so devoid of weakness
Oh, to see the sun rise
With beauty in my arms, by my side
And lovers words in my ear
The warm embrace of God’s gift
Of splendid life, so worth celebrating
I love the smell of barbecue
The sweet kiss of the scent as I drive by
Windows down, music blasting
But what I love most of all
A blanket of stars pulled over our patio
Our very own planetarium
Walks in the park
Watching nature unfold itself
As dusk sets in
A bowl full of sundae
Beneath the dull neon glow
Of city lights
Of the unexpected kiss
A surreal moment of genuine surrender
In a world so devoid of weakness
Oh, to see the sun rise
With beauty in my arms, by my side
And lovers words in my ear
