In an era awash in dysfunction
You can rest sure at this junction

Because as sure as the stars shine in the night sky
You will forever be the apple of my eye

Perhaps when the waves last break on the shore
We won’t be in love anymore

But by the Lord’s decree that day will never come
So we have no reason to be glum

Despite the insanity that abounds
We’ve found comfort that surrounds

And until the last sun sets in the sky
I will never desire to say goodbye

Until the last drop of rain does fall
Our love will stand, true and tall

May forever my heart bend
Towards you, without an end

May time itself melt away
Before I face such a tragic day

May the turmoil draw us closer together
And may we say farewell never

Because no matter what the future brings
It is of you my heart always sings

No matter the foe that I must fight
I will lie beside you some fateful night

And though the world will test my wit
I won’t give in, not even a bit

With your love and God’s grace, I cannot fail
Even when my well-being seems its most frail

Because when you’re loved, you’re a tad bit stronger
You feel you must protector your lover, if only for a little longer

And bit by bit, we can build my resolve
Until every struggle my will can absolve

And when I return home to you
You’ll receive a lover who’s better than new
