My lungs begin thumping
When you draw near
And there’s a rush to my head
As my heart begins pumping
When I see you, my dear
Sitting on my bed
I am at a loss for words
Only actions will suffice
And I am a man of action
If I could speak, I wouldn’t be heard
I know that your attention melts like ice
As our emotions begin their refraction
What good are sweet words in midnight encounters
They can’t really express the love we need to convey
They can only muddle precious time
So while my attempt at sweet talk flounders
I know you wouldn’t push me away
Because our affair is just reaching its prime
So rest assured that these words aren’t all I feel
My stomach leaps into my throat at your sight
And, in ways that don’t have words, I love you
I really wish that all I could reveal
But alas, try as I might
I must wait until we are together again, before I can show you what’s true
When you draw near
And there’s a rush to my head
As my heart begins pumping
When I see you, my dear
Sitting on my bed
I am at a loss for words
Only actions will suffice
And I am a man of action
If I could speak, I wouldn’t be heard
I know that your attention melts like ice
As our emotions begin their refraction
What good are sweet words in midnight encounters
