Like the crystal blue of a waterfall
Or the glint of the stars at nightfall

The sudden jolt of autumn wind
The storming tempest under which trees bend

Or the serenity of a Sunday morning
The peace that washes over with no warning

Like the steady bobbing of the buoy on the jeweled sea
That is what your love is to me

And just like the sun needs the moon beside
To accompany it on its eternal ride

The reason a flower needs soil to sprout into the sky
Is the same reason that the sight of you brings a tear of joy to my eye

Because everyone needs someone to love
In fact, it’s why we were made by one up above

That’s why I need you to help me stay strong
So that my life and my mission may be long

But most of all, I just need you so that we can be together
And I plan to keep it that way forever
