To be in love like hearts of old
And through the winter, shield each other from the cold

To be thankful for even meager meals
And be sustained by the love we feel

To walk along sparse, wooded lanes
And be bathed in gentle autumn rain

To carve out a life for our little family
And all the while, to hold you close to me

To brave the wind or bitter cold
And forever have one to hold

To dare to dream of the undreamt
And never fall to the evil one’s attempts

To know that you give true affection
And to know that love is a heavenly reflection

This Thanksgiving I am thankful for two
