I do find it... unsettling that people will rely others for income, but I remember that they're like movie stars. Movie stars rely fans/audiences to watch the movies that they play a part in for their income... so these people who use Pateron are somewhat the same way.

As long they have the many fans who are willing to throw money at them, then they're fine. Plus, if all they can draw is ponies, they will have adapt to something else to attract different audiences.

If you believe that this fandom will die at some point, don't forget that this show inspire many to draw, and in a few years, they will do something else, that may very well start a their very own cartoon/anime. As well as games, scripts, music, etc. that the show enable to shine from the Internet.
