Well if a game can get competitive, it will become competitive in some way.

Though a lot of the most popular Esports are games that can be played strictly casually, such as Dota and CS.

There's also usually an abundance of resources for newer players to learn both the game and the scene. You don't have to get into the scene but if you want to there's stuff to help with that.
