To answer StableRelationship's question, they think you're scam artists because, as I've grown closer to Sweets, I have found that I would like to help him out, perhaps even financially. When my parents found out, they assumed he was manipulating me into giving him money. And apparently my plan to have people vouch for him backfired because they assumed that everyone who would stand up for his identity was his accomplice. So they think this forum is infested with scammers who are after my money. My mother's told me that I especially can't do anything because it would destroy my dad's career; her logic is that if I gave money to a scammer I'd be abetting a crime and the whiff of scandal about our household would be enough to have my father disbarred. It's sorrowful to think that my life is apparently not my own to live...
