I'm working on Pinkie right now, had some conversations with her throughout the day, though they're very forced right now, seeing as it is new to me.
I felt a like this to start with too. I don't know if this is how others see it, but I kinda see tulpas as "imaginary friends, version 2.0 with pony expansion pack installed". You take the basic concept of an imaginary friend, and work on imagining/projecting them to such an extent that the imaginary friend becomes ever-present and feels functionally separate from yourself. From that perspective, there isn't really anything supernatural about Tulpas. You're just working on your imagination and exploiting social psychology (for want of a better term).
