I do have a great affection for the old jazz tunes of the 20s and 30s, and, though it was used in a context I didn't necessarily identify with, I've found myself feeling a certain self-definitional affinity with that phrase "Sentimental Gentleman," especially because of its southern connotations (given the background of my darling A.J. and all...)
