Nonfiction Sadness?

Have you ever watched a movie, played a video game, or read a book that actually made you feel sad in some way? If so, feel free to post about it.

Fallout 4 Things

I was actually sad about two things here, the first being the ending cinematic. When you finish the main quest line you get an ending cinematic, your character basically talks about how even though they tried to fix things and just wanted their family back, that'd never happen and this is the way things are. I felt kinda sad thinking about it, you tried to find your family and fix things, pretend nothing ever happened, but that nuked wasteland is all you have now, and you've lost your family.

The fact that the Robot brains were created by actual people's brains, who were tortured, experimented on, and killed and viewed as nothing really hit me. No wonder the robots were killing people, they're run by a brain of a tortured soul.

Manhunter got a very big emotional reaction from me the first time I watched it (still does in some ways). Namely the scene where Dolarhyde and Reba are together and he listens to her heartbeat before putting his hand over the scar on his lip (he was born with a cleft but eventually got it repaired) and cries because it was the first time he felt excepted and loved by another person. I fully admit I teared up with him because I could understand.

There are definitely more examples that come to mind but that'll probably be for another time.

The Infinite Warfare trailer. But then I saw the dislikes, and it kinda cheered me up.

The fact that Doom won't come out on last gen.

If you haven't cried at some point from fiction, I'd have to wonder why. Sure, it is just fiction, but it's made to push our buttons, and invoke feeling. Well, some of it, anyway. Here are some of the ones which did it for me, in no particular order.

Terminator 2: As a child, I'd watched this many times, but at one random viewing, for some reason, I actually felt bad for the t-800 when he was being lowered into the molten steel.

Star Trek episode: The Inner Light. I won't link it here, because links like that tend not to last, but I saw 2 links on daily motion. One of the best episodes, hands down, and a real mind-bender for poor Picard.

Time Immemorial: It's an MLP green. It's also a fairly terrifying presentation of the horror of immortality. I can't find the pastebin to link, so I'll attach a pdf, instead.

There are a lot of others, of course, but that's enough for now. I'm going to be thinking about this all day...

The part in Shin Godzilla where he used his atomic ray for the first time got me to cry. No shame in admitting that. It was a beautiful, tragic moment.

I've been really feeling for Megatron in the current Transformers comics as I've been reading them. Poor guy just trying to redeem himself, and in the comics he's just become the saddest robot ever. It's like reading the story about an old man who did horrible things in his youth and trying to make amends, when everyone around him wants to see him dead. And he starts to think they're right.
