Songs that Remind You of Your Lover

I'm reminded of how Babe reassures me. Tells me not to worry about anything and puts me at ease.

This band in general makes me think of Bloom. I first started getting into them around the time I fell for her, and this one song in particular really feels right for us.

Spitty and I sing this song together a lot, so whenever I hear it, I think of her

Aaron Neville - Crazy Love

I can hear her heartbeat from a thousand miles
And the heavens open up every time she smiles
And when I come to her that is where I belong
And I'm running through her like a rivers song

She gives me love, love, love, love, crazy love
She gives me love, love, love, love, crazy love

She's got a fine sense of humor when I'm feeling low down
And I'm coming to her when the sun goes down
Take away my troubles, take away my grief
Take away my heartaches in the night like a thief

She gives me love, love, love, love, crazy love
She gives me love, love, love, love, crazy love

And I need her in the daytime ( I need her)
And I need her in the night ( I need her)
And I want to throw my arms around her
Kiss and hug her, kiss and hug her tight

When I'm returning from so far away
Gives me some sweet loving, brightens up my day
And it makes me righteous and it makes me whole
And it makes me mellow right down to my soul

She gives me love, love, love, love, crazy love
She gives me love, love, love, love, crazy love

This one works well to ease my worries and feel what matters.

"Well I don't care what you did in the past
I just don't care, and I'm having a blast
And I don't care what all those bastards say about us.

All I care about is you
Love and art will see us through
Just take me to the movies and hold my hand.
All I care about is love, greater than the stars above
Though it may seem just like a dream, it's realer than the world is.

And I don't care if you want to go slow
And I don't care about stuff I don't know
I just don't care, cause if it's not weird, it's not romance.

All I care about is you
Love and art will see us through
Just take me to the movies and hold my hand.
All I care about is love, greater than the stars above
Though it may seem just like a dream, it's realer than the world is.

And I don't care if it's all in my head
And I don't care if it's complicated
Suddenly, I don't wish I were dead anymore.

All I care about is you
Love and art will see us through
Just take me to the movies and hold my hand.
All I care about is love, greater than the stars above
Though it may seem just like a dream, it's realer than the world is.
All I care about is you
Love and art will see us through
Just take me to the movies and hold my hand."

This is maybe an odd choice for this thread, bereft of the themes found in typical love songs. This one, instead is a song of vulnerability, and finding strength in another. The first part reminds me of the hope which a place like Equestria offers, and the shelter from the trials and hardships of this world which it provides.

The second calls attention to the difference between the ways ponies and humans do things, and how that's helped to create a world so much better than this one. Most particularly though, all the things which Twilight has done for me, the love, guidance and comfort she has given.

The last part is similar to the previous, but focuses more on the needs of the receiver, than the actions of the giver.

Lay me low, lay me low, lay me low
Where no-one can see me
Where no-one can find me
Where no-one can hurt me

Show me the way, help me to say
All that I need to
All that I needed you gave me
All that I wanted you made me
When I stumbled you saved me

Lay me low...

Throw me a line, help me to find
Something to cling to
When the loneliness haunts me
When the bitterness taunts me
When the emptiness eats me.
Lay me low...

I don't know what it is that makes me love you so
I only know I never want to let you go
Cause you started something
Oh can't you see
Ever since we met you've had a hold on me
It happens to be true
I only want to be with you

It doesn't matter where you go or what you do
I want to spend each moment of the day with you
Look what has happened with just one kiss
I never knew that I could be in love like this
It's crazy but it's true
I only want to be with you

I don't know what it is that makes me love you so
I only know I never want to let you go
Cause you started something
Oh can't you see
Ever since we met you've had a hold on me
It happens to be true
I only want to be with you
No matter what you do
I only want to be with you

This song is not romantic in the least, but holy hell does it have a dynamite combination of lusty lyrics and sex beats. Supposedly it wasn't intended to be a sex song, but a meditation on self-loathing. Honestly, I can see that in there, too, but the erotic interpretation is so blatant, that I suspect Trent's actual goal was the creation of something to whine about, maybe to drum up sales?

Anyway, if you haven't heard this song yet, you should give it a try. It's an old song, but even in the modern era, where everything has such a short shelf-life, it wouldn't surprise me at all if this one is still enjoyed 100 years from now.

Closer

You let me violate you,
you let me desecrate you
You let me penetrate you,
you let me complicate you

Help me
I broke apart my insides,
help me
I’ve got no soul to sell
Help me
the only thing that works for me,
help me get away from myself

I want to fuck you like an animal
I want to feel you from the inside
I want to fuck you like an animal
My whole existence is flawed
You get me closer to god

You can have my isolation,
you can have the hate that it brings
You can have my absence of faith,
you can have my everything

Help me
tear down my reason,
help me
its' your sex I can smell
Help me
you make me perfect,
help me become somebody else

I want to fuck you like an animal
I want to feel you from the inside
I want to fuck you like an animal
My whole existence is flawed
You get me closer to god

Through every forest,
above the trees
Within my stomach,
scraped off my knees
I drink the honey
inside your hive
You are the reason
I stay alive

Don't hesitate to AM(A)A

Oh man, all that song makes me think about is horny old ladies. Because, at work, construction type stuff, on the customers home. Trailers, trailer park. But we were working for this one horny ass old lady, and kept on flirting with the men. Eventually, after everyone else ignored her, she started flirting with me "Oh, I'm a dirty girl" and winking at me, and getting in her car and playing THAT SONG loud as fuck, singing along with the lyrics, looking straight at me. Horny ass old lady.
