I first heard this song in my friends truck, c2000/2001. We were returning after a long day in Charleston, and he was driving down the deserted, swamp-lined highway like a madman. It was a long trip, late at night, after a busy day, so we both slipped in to that semi-catatonic state any long-distance driver is familiar with, speed blurring the interstate's lights and reflectors in to colorful lines against the dark night.
He slipped in this CD, new to both of us, and this song came on. It was so fitted to that hazy, dark, fatigued, color-streaked moment it was unreal. I got home and eventually ripped it from his CD, as these were the days when youtube, peer downloads, or any of those kinds of things were still in their infancy.
As it turned out, he got transferred to a new area, and we lost contact shortly thereafter. Then, as luck would have it, I lost the song in a hard drive crash before I could burn it to CD. Again, this was back in the day, and burning a DVD rom was the best way to backup your HD, and CDs were still the best way to listen to/store music.
I never forgot the song, but since I didn't know its name, or the group who made it, it was impossible to find another copy. Finally the divinities of the internet have seen fit to bless me with it once more. I hope you enjoy it as much as we did.

The bigger you build the bonfire, the more darkness is revealed.
Every possession and every happiness is but lent by chance for an uncertain time, and may therefore be demanded back the next hour.
