Movies just watched - Theatre V1
Kung Fu Panda 3 (2016).

I won't lie, I'm an unabashed KFP fan. I've been a fan of these beautiful, beautiful movies for nearly ten years. Since the beginning, really. This movie still hits a special note with me on a personal level. I adore these characters, the wonderful stories and themes (that honestly don't get enough credit in my opinion), the universe they live in. The art style. The gorgeous animation. All of it. It never gets old.

There's been rumors floating around for the last two years of a fourth movie, mostly based on an old statement Jeffrey Katzenberg gave way back in 2010; but I sincerely hope they don't needlessly carry on past this one. It's a perfect finale, far as I'm concerned. Everything comes full circle and it all works seamlessly.

-Po is basically in Shifu's place in the first movie. Not old and bitter, but rather someone with a seemingly impossible task placed on him, and he being so set in his ways doesn't see how to handle it. Whereas Shifu is now in Oogway's place, the wise and fulfilled master.

-The more lighthearted and comedic tone works because it's a story that is entirely Po's own, front to back. Yes, he's always been the main character there is literally no denying that; but the previous two movies were split fairly evenly between the other primary characters. Namely Master Shifu in the first and Lord Shen *and Tigress* in the second.

This is just stuff from off the top of my head. Great movie. Great trilogy.

Son of Godzilla (1967).

A surprisingly strong installment in the franchise. A good mixture of classic "monster island" adventure, science fiction, heartwarming and comedic.

Also, the wire work for the Kamacuras trio and Kumonga was impeccable. Fun movie from beginning to end.
