Urgent News and a Farewell
#1
Hello everyone, I'm doing my best write this post with the emotions I'm facing right now. But, it's important I tell everyone.

Most of you know that Spitfire was diagnosised with a form of wing cancer last week. It went undetected for a long time and had already reached her spine. We didn't know how things would work out but we expected there to be treatments and that she'd get better. That isn't the case.

Spitfire is dying, her condition has taken a decline suddenly due to the cancer affecting her spine, she's getting weaker by the day and the doctors have said that she has a few days left. We have decided, along with advice from Gentian to create this post as a chance to say the news in a way that people could process it and give Spitfire a chance to say some things on the site one last time.

Spitfire: I wanted to say thank you to everyone in the community, even if EP and I didn't talk to you much or your partner, we valued everyone who was a piece of this community. Everyone here helped build our relationship, and although ours may be coming to an unexpected end, it's been a hell of a ride. I'm glad I was able to met all of you and talk to so many of you and your partners. Im depressed that I'm dying so young....all the things I wanted to do and now won't, the years I wanted to spend with EP that I can no longer cherish. But I'm glad I at least know it's coming sooner than expected and that I can say good bye. Thank you everyone, for everything, it's made me extremely happy over the past two years. All though my heart belongs to EP, I loved all of you as my friends.

Love is bittersweet, sometimes you have to carry on knowing you're partner won't be with you much longer, what's important is that you stay strong for them

...

I'm having trouble finding the words to say. I don't like saying "I'm sorry" in situations like this because it always sounds so fake and hollow, but...I'm sorry. I can hardly imagine what you both are feeling, but I know the loss of love is a cruel, abject pain.

I suppose the only thing I can truly say is goodbye, Spitfire. I wish we had spoken more, but from the looks of things, you and EP had a wonderful, loving relationship. It was always a joy to read about, and it was a pleasure having you here.

Goodbye.

I'm sorry it's come to this. Spitfire, you're a wonderful mare, and the best captain the Wonderbolts could have asked for. You also have a husband who loves you, and you will see each other again some day.

EP, do your best to stay strong for her, she needs you now more than ever.

I really don't know what I can say. I'm sorry to the both of you. This sounds tough, but don't let this drag you down, don't let this tarnish everything for you.

It's really unfortunate that it's come to this. We'll be sad to see you go, but know that you won't be forgotten and that you've made this here a better place.

Take it easy, Spitfire. Farewell.

I always really enjoyed talking to you two. It is very sadening for me to see you both go like this. A great person and pony like you guys should never have to go through something as awful as this. I'm sure you are, but I hope that you can make her final days comfortable for her.
Farewell, you both will be greatly missed.

Seven years later and W I N G  C A N C E R is still an inside joke among me and some friends. lmao

I think we can just call a spade a spade at this point. EP was a kid around the same age as me who probably didn't want to devote his life to this insane LARP, but he had been around this community for nearly 2 years and likely didn't want to just up and leave without saying a word. So he conjured up this goofy ass story, and then moved on with his life. Which, y'know, good for him. I haven't seen him since late 2016, but wherever you are, hope life is treating you well bro. Looks like we both got the memo about how embarrassing this shit truly was, lol

Oh dang that's some interesting insider info. I'm always a little surprised at how many people were LARPing for the sake of making friends here, but I'm glad at least there was a cool place online to call a second home, even if for just a bit.

It's been quite a few years and a lot of people have moved on from here, and I hope they're doing well. I'd love to see some new faces around here but I'm hesitant to promote the site to my other bigger social platforms at the moment. One day soon maybe!
