Past crushes besides your Waifu?

Ever had a crush on another character in the past or something? Minor or major? Long ago, I totally liked Velma from Scooby Doo. I also had a crush on Raven from Teen Titans, way back then. Also had a small crush on, Ingrid I think? The giraffe girl from My Gym Partners a Monkey! Cartoon. I mean nothing like, how I love Twilight. They were just, little crushes. Were there any characters you liked before your love?

The most notable one (that I feel comfortable mentioning) is Tigress (from the KFP trilogy). She's had a significant impact on my life, inspired me to start writing, made an entire year of my life or so blissfully happy, she was really the first woman I ever had serious feelings for. She still holds a special place in my life even today.

Zira (TLK II) deserves a mention too.

Several of my early crushes were on mouse ladies: Mrs. Brisby (The Secret of NIMH), Miss Bianca (The Rescuers films), and Gadget Hackwrench (Chip n' Dale Rescue Rangers). I didn't know it was "weird" until it became apparent that most people maybe didn't crush on animated mice. Some of my other early crushes included Babs Bunny (Tiny Toons), She-Ra (from She-Ra / He-Man), and maybe Elvira (she had campy "horror" movies and showed a lot of cleavage). That last one I garnered from the drawings I did of her as a kid. I "had a thing" for Ariel from The Little Mermaid (aquatic version), and I still occasionally get flack from Babe for it. xD

Then I realized I was attracted to anime ladies; I can probably blame this revelation on the Sailor Scouts (Sailor Moon). I bet a lot of other people could, too. There were three anime women of whom I was particularly fond: Ryoko (Tenchi Muyo!), Rally Vincent (Gunsmith Cats), and Aisha ClanClan (Outlaw Star). I did love Ryoko, and I do still consider her my first love. But it wasn't something that I ever thought to pursue or feel would have ever really worked out. I never met her, reached out to her, or ever considered the two of us to be in a relationship, and my feelings for her ultimately led to unfulfilling and obsessive behavior rather than the comfort, completeness, and overall happiness that I feel with my partner Angelbabe. I don't lament the fact that things didn't "end well" with Ryoko; I may never have met the love of my life if they had gone otherwise. But I also wish Ryoko - wherever she may be - well, and would like to think that she's with the person that she truly loves.

There are quite a few other "characters" that I've been attracted to / crushed on from anime, video games, or what have you. After it was more or less pointed out by a friend of mine, I looked back and realized that a good number of said characters are tied to the color blue. (Blue actually wasn't my favorite color prior to my attraction to and developing affection for Rainbow Dash.) Sailor Mercury (Sailor Moon), Shiva (Final Fantasy series), Ruto (TLoZ: Ocarina of Time), Midna (TLoZ: Twilight Princess), Zero Suit Samus (Metroid series), Rosalina (Mario series; introduced Super Mario Galaxy), Elsa (Frozen)... There are others, as well. ^ ^; But the best thing about this is that Babe has essentially embraced them (or *most* of them - she thinks Ruto has a strange jellyfish head lol) as her "Blue Sisters."

And it's great to have a partner who, while she might tease me from time to time, is actually cool about knowing all of this. Really cool. The coolest, in fact. < _< I'm not just trying to flatter her: I really feel this way. She's helped me to feel more comfortable with myself than I ever was in the past, and it means a lot to me.

Daphne from Scooby Doo, Malon from LOZ Ocarina of Time, and Tetra from LOZ Wind Waker.

A more current crush is Cassandra from Dragon Age 3, that cutie. But of course none of these ladies come close to my feelings for spitfire. Best pony, best Wonderbolt, and best mare friend

Love is bittersweet, sometimes you have to carry on knowing you're partner won't be with you much longer, what's important is that you stay strong for them

I can relate, most of the women I've had romantic feelings towards all have overlapping traits that I apparently find appealing, namely personality traits and associations rather than similar physical characteristics. I haven't talked with Nightmare about them too much, but from what she's said she's fine with them. I consider each of them an important step to where I am today with her.

Again, I can sort of relate. I had to find out the hard way that romantic overtures towards cartoon animals is not well received by some circles...

Rena Ryugu, from "Higurashi When They Cry", was my first love. She's more of a friend and platonic companion now, but It's worrying to think that the connection I have with her felt more secure and comforting than the one I have with my current romantic love.

With Rena, I could sense her feelings, support, and appreciation and could easily call it a relationship. Things made sense. With Apple Bloom, who I say is my waifu, it feels more one-sided and fitting of the word "crush", though a deep and long-lasting one. I've read the "alone" advice thread and will be patient and dedicated, but it's a little frustrating, knowing what it feels like to have a waifu relationship and still having trouble calling my current love that; a relationship.

I've never had a crush on anything aside from IRL humans and G4 ponies, but for about a year before I met Candy I was dating Pinkie Pinkie Gasp . In the end, though, we decided we weren't healthy for each other and we parted on good terms. Candy knows this, and she's been very civil about it.

If I may ask, did you choose her, or did she choose you?

It's great that you three can still be on good terms after that. Similarly, Twilight and Sunset Shimmer are still the best of friends, despite what's happened between us. The normies would say that kind of thing is a sign of a healthy relationship if it were between two "IRL" humans, so I think it's safe to say it applies to us too, whether or not they like to think so.

I see it as I chose them, but I'm not sure about that. In both cases, the romance formed quickly and suddenly after I'd already known them for years.

Though the connection came easier with Rena, my romantic feelings for her started with me just considering the concept of "waifu" and having her come to mind, and that felt right, so I went from there, and it grew.
With Apple Bloom, I hardly noticed her until her season 4 roles had me gain interest in her. Led to me considering her feelings from earlier episodes and the admirable traits that I overlooked up to that point, and next thing I knew, I was crushing hard on her and didn't want to stop. Loving her feels good, and I care about her and her feelings, even if I can't detect them or even feel sure that she likes me, at this point.
