Songs that Remind You of Your Lover
#1
I'm certain that we all have songs that instantly bring to mind images or memories of the one we love. This is a thread where we can share them!

In my case, I probably have too many to list without spamming the forum, but one song that always brings A.J. to mind for me, and which has a special meaning given our history, is "In the Shade of the Old Apple Tree" by Harry Williams and Egbert Van Alstyne from 1905. It was the song that comforted me when I had to stay behind while A.J. fought against Sombra (I wanted to be by her side, but she insisted I would be more of a liability than an asset, and that she didn't want to have to worry about me like that when there was work to be done; in the end, I felt I had to respect her wishes and trust in the strength of her and her friends). I worried about her every day, and this melancholy song comforted me by reminding me that our love was eternal and nothing could tear it apart, no matter what tragedy might befall us in this life. Praise Celestia, though, she came back safe, sound and victorious...and I got to greet her by serenading her with the number that had been such an aid to me in my trying hours!

Nowadays, many songs or particular lyrics remind me of Rainbow. This one, however, happens to actually be titled "Rainbow." x3

@Sentimental Gentleman

Odd type of music, but I did enjoy it... Even Amena found it charming.

Last time I stop to listen something like that, was a game called "Toy Soldier"... it's where you control one of two armies of miniature toy soldiers on a World War I model diorama with wooden and plastic landscapes. I let it play in the title screen, just because it wasn't bad, and might add that to my Wishlist on iTunes. Thanks dude. ^ ^

...

Ah! Good, they do have it on iTunes. X)

@Sweets

That's indeed beautiful song, thanks for sharing that with us Sweets. I will sample their album.

...

So far I am enjoying it. Lol! It's a metalcore band. XD It's still alright with me. XP

@AgoriShy

It's a classic in the Brony community, and never get tired of listening to this one. ^ ^ Among "It's Ok" and "An Octave Beauty" from AcousticBrony.

@Kaltes

Slowly but surely can envision that song with your Nightmare... Not as completely as you're, since I keep seeing it as like... (Looks it up) "Night On Bald Mountain"

Hope I don't mean to offend with that input Kaltes. X(

You sure you didn't spend the day looking up songs that had the word Rainbow? XD Nice song... this makes 189 on my Wishlist now. :P

Alright, hope you guys didn't mind me taking the time to listen to your songs, music is what I and Amena enjoy, and surely everyone out there reading this. I found this today, while exploring new music, and I love it... Since I keep replaying it, I might as well learn the lyrics and sing it to a special pink pony. ^w^

Has a nice upbeat, with nice meaning behind the lyrics. Like Ziggy shared for us. X3

I think there could be no better plan than that, Sour Soul!

I might as well post another one of those songs that got me thinking about A.J. It's weird, but sometimes a song that I never really connected with her before suddenly summons up an image of her and forever after I associate it with her. This was one of those songs. I was listening to it on a 2-hour solo road trip...and I ended up listening to it at least five more times in a row!

This is actually a song from 1927, but there's something about this version done very early in the Beatles' career, a certain swagger that, for me, really brings to mind everything that makes Applejack the tough, breathtaking mare she is.

And I don't even like the Beatles all that much. Tongue

Love is bittersweet, sometimes you have to carry on knowing you're partner won't be with you much longer, what's important is that you stay strong for them

Wish granted.

This one is very close to my heart, as it reminds me so very much of her and the love we have.

Always when I listen this music, I think about my beloved Rarity, about how much I love her.

"I Don't Want to Set the World on Fire." What a beautiful choice, Barrfind! Are you a fan of music from that period in general? Because I certainly am! Smile

Here's another one that I always seem to end up crooning to my darling A.J., cut by a "sweet band" of the period, Ben Bernie's Hotel Roosevelt Orchestra, with the seemingly unavoidable Scrappy Lambert on vocal.

"I'm riding high,
But I've got a feeling I'm falling
Falling for nopony else but you!"

Nah, I like some types of music. Metal, dubstep, classic and others. I hate Disco for sure.
And this music I don't must explain why.
