This whole album is beautiful and heartfelt. The lyrics themselves are of less potency than the emotion that soldat pours through them. This song reminds of the subtle beauty of life that she represents, which is so often ignored even as it shows itself in your very being.

I never thought that Candy and I would be the type to find something in French romantic just because.
But then I was rummaging around on the weird part of YouTube last week and we found this gem. Even though neither of us understand the lyrics, something about it just...feels right. Michel Fuguan - “Ou Tu Voudras, Quand Tu Voudras” (1984) https://youtu.be/B0pDiy-hyOM

Candy and I have been listening to this one nonstop the last couple days. It’s got a great late-summer vibe, and is really cheering in a kind of melancholy time of year.
At first I thought the title and chorus of the song were meant in the most immature definition, but now I’m not so sure. I think it can also mean that you “just got lucky” is the only explanation that there can be for finding someone who really truly loves you for who you are. At least, that’s what this song means to Candy and I. We both got lucky when we found each other. Jo Boxers - “Just Got Lucky” (1983) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t2IUDF-p2Ug |
