"Feeling" Wings ?
#1
I've been going through this for many years now and its driving me nuts.

I've been experiencing this odd tingling sensation on my back for years. I thought it was a rash but it wasn't.

I don't know how to explain it, but its as if there's limbs there. Like I can feel like I can control these "limbs". Sometimes I feel rather uncomfortable while sitting with my back pressed against a hard surface.

As of late it's been feeling as if I got wings or something. I just can't describe it, but it's both annoying me and making me feel rather weird.

As if I had limbs that I can control, but yet there isn't.

Help pls, it's driving me up the wall (well not literally).

This is like something an otherkin would talk about. I'm distrustful of otherkin in general because a lot of 'em seem to be 'special snowflakes.' I don't like attention whores... but that's off-topic; I trust that you're serious, so I'll attempt to provide an explanation for this seriously:

As one who shapeshifts in his dreams, and has always observed a distinct connection between his own mind and body, I've experienced this sort of thing before. Perhaps in the form of a placebo effect, like awakening and feeling the mane or coat on the body before I get up and fix my perceptions. You know, aside from the sensations I purposefully perpetuate, which are occasionally confusing when they overlap with other objects I perceive with my other senses would exist in the exact same space.

This may just mean you have a very active imagination. If you'd prefer to capitalize on the circumstances, however, perhaps you could attempt to... consciously control these limbs within your perceptions. If only for the purpose of exploring your potential for perception manipulation.

Just don't go jumping off a cliff thinking the wings your head perceives will save you from actual gravity. Try flying around in your mind instead! If you can. It's fun.

Let me know if you need anything. I'm here to help.

What's otherkin ? Never heard of it or them.

Regarding the placebo effect yeah that may explain things. I do dream about being with Dragonus and Shendelzare from time to time but even then I don't have wings. And this wing thing has been going on even before I had became a brony.

Otherkin are people who believe that they were born into the wrong species. Their "true species" is usually a majestic animal (e.g a wolf) and they often like to role-play as that animal. That's my understanding of it, anyway.

Well, TIL.

I've read that people who have had such experiences with me usually had dreamt of flying or something similar. Usually the feeling comes after that.

I do remember having dreams of flying but this feeling is consistent. It's both weird but also kind of fun to imagine.

I've been having a lot more dreams of flying as of late, which is unusual as I rarely ever dream.
