For Angelbaby: Poems and Songs

I wanted my thousandth post to be something meaningful. Considered making a post in our relationship journal. Thought of sharing something about her that makes my life that much more worthwhile. But it occurred to me: I can oftentimes better express just what she means to me through poetry. I set out to write one poem, and I ended up with two. I'll never write enough poems; there will always be more to say.

One thing I know is true:
My life began with you

A loneliness was ended,
And, too, a heart was mended

One thing I know is clear:
I'm better now you're here

My world was filled with color,
And I will love no other


My Lady
My lady's blue but happy
And thinks me rather sappy

My lady's strong and brave
And tells me to behave

My lady's smart and funny
And helps me spend my money

My lady's rather fast
I always get there last

My lady's quite the beauty
And tellin' her's my duty

My lady's sweet and kind
No better could I find
