if the show is too political, or if early sneak peaks are really political in tone, I’m not going to watch it.

Yeah I agree with these sentiments, I'd much rather the show doesn't try to make its messaging overly political. Having friendship lessons was really nice in FiM and those are timeless, but political jazz ages horribly and makes for a much less light-hearted tone. We get way too much of that stuff everywhere else nowadays, I hope it doesn't bleed into pony.

I'm down for some cute horses doing cute things and going on cute adventures.
